I will be upset if we don't at least make an attempt to hire Muschamp as DC

Did Ole Miss and Vandy beat us to it?

Meh.. I don't care what his record in Jacksonville is. He could still be an improvement over CTG.

Maybe, I'm just not sure. I just wouldn't like hiring even an alumnus who was just fired by a major rival.

I guess you don't accept any excuses even with UF losing nearly 40% of their starters

I want us to find the best option at DC that will get us back to having an SEC defense. If old mushy is the way to go, then I'm for it. I'd prefer to pick someone from another college team rather than from the NFL this time around.

We need someone who brings back a simplified defense scheme (leave the 3-4 if necessary; it is good when players know what they are doing) and who focuses on fundamentals and discipline. A good recruiter is a necessity, as well.

Muschamp runs a hybrid 3-4 and is an excellent recruiter. The adjustment period would be minimal since we already have the personnel. He'd be a homerun hire if people weren't hung up on him being the coach at Florida.

That's why I'd be OK with him coming back to UGA.

He might earn some good will from the fanbase with an official apology for being temporarily associated with FL.

Vandy had 183 total yards the entire game and scored 34 points

Florida had a bunch of turnovers. Make no mistake, UF's D is stout most of the time. Now they have sort of quit

It doesn't help that the defense has all of the pressure. Without a marginally successful offense, even the best defenses will get worn down over time from the sheer number of plays they are on the field.

I bet the O & D players just ignore each other during the week...

"D" players are like "frick you" when they pass the "O" on the practice field...
