Yes, Tray is one of the most talented freshman Richt has ever had. His best attribute? He’s got it together between the ears, he wants to be the best. He will be a 4 year starter IMO, we were lucky to land him.

Greg Blue + Thomas Davis with Rambo's ball-hawking skills....don't judge on the first year, but will go down as one of the hardest hitting, ball tracking safeties of all time at UGA.

PS - despite not being a top 10 HS recruit, his passion for the game and UGA will propel him!!!

excuse me, let me clarify....based on spring ball comments and the headaches of the WRs during carrousel drills....he has the utmost potential....

Also, I am speaking on pure potential...ANYTHING can happen. However, I did play WR for UGA and did plenty of carrousel drills against J. Phillips, Bailey, Blue, Wansley, etc. in 2001 and I see the impact from tape that Matthews can lay.

I had an appendectomy and a spleen split after my 2nd year and could no longer play. I was under Eason and Segrave at WR

I played against Tray personally and he is a stud. No doubt. To be honest out of the five best athletes I played against (Tray, RF, Crowell, Jordan Jenkins, Shaq Wiggins) Tray was the best overall player easy. He single handily beat us last year. We lost by 3 points and he scored all four of their touchdowns (2 receiving touchdowns, Pick six, Kick return).

As mentioned, not only is the guy a stud at safety, he's got a great head on his shoulders. This guy is an early enrollee who should still be in high school right now. So what'd he do last month...go to his HS prom? Go on college spring break with the fellas? Nope..he tweeted he was staying in athens to keep getting ready for clemson.

I about flipped my desk over when I saw that. Kid seems like he's got it going on upstairs, I'm very excited to see him at safety this year.

Me too. Almost down to the home stretch. Once summer starts, the season will here before you know it!
