I think it’s important to note that 2021 Bennett was not nearly as good as 2022 Bennett. I would take the currently-struggling Beck over 2021 Bennett, just because he opens the field up a lot more as a passer. I would take 2022 Bennett over Beck right now, for sure.
I also think there’s a world where our edge group this year ends up being better than 2021, and actually CB as well. Ringo and Kendrick were good but not insurmountably good.

True, but for the sake of comparing this roster heading into the season with another one I needed to just pick a year so went with 2021. Honestly there's probably not a whole of preseason 2024 positions I'd take over 2022 either.

Idk, they'd have to really explode. Mykell and Jalon are great but let's be honest they've been pretty quiet all season up until our last game. They balled out against Texas but Mykell has bene injured or a non factor most of the season adn Walker has mostly been uncalled on as well

Perhaps, but I don' think entering 2024 there would be anything to suggest our 2024 is better than what we know we had in 2021.

Without Mykell, JW got extra attention. With the double/triple teams Mykell got, it freed up so much more. Also, having Brinson back helped immeasurably. A pleasant surprise is that Cole kid. He looks legit.

I would say Jalon has been pretty productive all year, especially so when Williams is healthy on the other side. He’ll most likely be drafted higher than Smith. The game they both had against Texas was more impressive than any single Smith/Anderson showing imo, especially pre-2021, and Williams and Walker don’t have the benefit of three first round picks at DT taking double teams.

2021
It's almost like you're viewing the 2021 players as finished products and how they were playing at the end of of their careers and the peak of their careers. Ladd and Mitchell were still puppies in 2021, especially at the beginning of the year. There are also injuries. You threw George Pickens in there like we're supposed to imagine George Pickens jumping over Giants like he was last night, but Pickens didn't play until December and Rosemy-Jacksaint was still young and coming back from bending his entire ankle backwards in the WLOCP on the TD pass when Stetston Bennett played the air guitar with a disloacted shoulder.
You also did the same thing with Bennett, like we're supposed to picture 2023 Stetson Bennett smoking a cigar after the TCU game. Bennett was 3rd string to start that season. He definitely wasn't 2022 peak Stetson Bennett in 2021.
You have a big imagination.
