This might be a vintage Georgia defense

Defense seems like a tighter group this season and playing hungrier and with more passion. They are celebrating for teammates when teammates make a play as if they made the play themself.
Brooks Austin said in his latest video that Elijah Griffin and Chris Cole will both be first round picks.Thinks that Griffin eventually be 90 percent of what Jalen Carter was except Griffin doesn't take plays off. Brooks also is all-in on Quintavious Jackson and thinks he'll be a high draft pick - physical freak and really intelligent and never out of place.
Middle linebackers stacked. Cornerbacks stacked.
Brooks' only real concern right now is Aguero in coverage.

Read an article earlier about aguero being a liability in coverage. Also talked about everette coming back and the possibility of him Harris and Robinson being on the field at the same time vs pass heavy teams. Would be quite the trio if it happened

Brooks says that Aguero is really solid in the run game, which I wasnt aware of, because I'm not an expert at this stuff and I just remember watching him set the record for the gayest attempt at a tackle in Georgia program history during last year's Auburn game.

Need it this year for sure. But I agree this is potentially a top UGA D. Not 22 level but damn good.

I’m feeling pretty good headed into this weekend.

Anybody have any idea if their new qb has faced this type of D? I know not this year but anyone familiar with his career?

Has their app state qb faced an sec defense with a bunch of future first rounders on it? Doubts.

Definitely a "vintage" Georgia offense. Sorry that one came low and slow right over the plate. Couldn't pass it up, but yeah. I feel real good about our D.

Bold statement. I think Jalen Carter is the most talented defensive player I have ever seen at UGA.

I think that is still Pollack, he was a force. The SCU sack, catch, TD play is all-time.

I see this as a problem every game on a play or two.

I think this is why we aren't hearing the same level of shite talking from Tenn fans this year for this game.

By mid-season it could be. Defense is loaded with 5*s and top 100 players. Way more talent than '22. Even the surprise starter at safety, Kyron Jones, a low 3* RB recruit, ran a 10.60 100 meters at 6' 200lbs. They learned a lot from the first two games.

The other Dawg fan said that Jalen Carter was the "most talented," which can be open to interpretation.
But I'm with you that Pollack was the most dominant and it's wild that somebody like Pollack can actually be underrated in Georgia football history. The "high motor" "overachiever" labels were bullshite and was just because he was a white guy. Pollack was a crazy athlete. One of the quickest first steps ever. He was shorter than what the NFL wants and his arms weren't long enough, and he was still drafted in the top 15 of the draft, which lets you know that he was a hell of an athlete.
The interception against Florida where he gets into the open field and hands it to Sean Jones was the play for me.

Love both guys. Pollack was a fantastic player, an all time UGA great.
I personally believe the most valuable thing a defense can have is a dominant interior pass rusher, and Carter has such a rare combo of size and speed from that position. He reminds me of Warren Sapp.
