Hey.... We could always use fresh blood in the officiating ranks.

No offense! I’m sure you’re great at it and there’s no way I’d do that…

It was just wild going to away games. One school had a team of refs that slowed the game by an hour by having a conference after every flag. One school had a ref on the line that ignored a defensive kid going early all night. It was so obvious the fans were yelling at him from the visitors stands non stop. It was very entertaining.

If the transfer portal went away, I'd be a happy camper. That's the thing driving my biggest issue now...players become essentially free agents without contracts.

NIL? Pay the kids...I have no problem with NIL.

Rules changes? No issues, though I would like to see better officiating and more holding calls. The clock running outside of 2 mins was a bit of a bummer last season.

Conference realignment? Fully onboard. Sick and tired of Ohio St. and Michigan having one game schedules every damn year and making the playoffs as a result. We now get two blue blood programs in the SEC, leading to better matchups.

The playoff? Some say it will diminish regular season games...these kids are playing to win, especially in premier matchups. Quality of play won't decrease. And a playoff? Holy shite, it's going to be glorious some of the matchups we're going to get to watch. I also believe it will lead to a truer champion than the four team currently gives us.

I get things are changing and change can be difficult to appreciate, especially for the folks who have loved CFB all their lives. Not all change is bad, though...let's give this a chance and see how everything plays out (minus the portal, because frick the portal).

Players union?

Wonder what happens when the women sue for unequal compensation.

I feel less excited about this season than any before. Not even a conscious objection to the changes, just a a disinterest.

From what I understand, they voted like 11-2 to organize and join the Union that represents the hourly workers at Dartmouth as a symbolic gesture that their requirements are similar to those of employees.

agree that the portal sucks

Why? they are amateurs. And they receive compensation well, WELL into the 6 figures with everythign they get in return for playing ball, not to mention they were already getting stipends so they were paid already.

The majority of them are uncessary and change simply for change's sake. Ther'es nothign that says you HAVE to create a dozen rule chagnes every offseason.

Conference realignment? Fully onboard

this is fricking despicable and is a massive teardown to the CFB that we've all known. CFB was great, in part, because of regionality. The SEC was the southeast and you got to know and hate all your neihgbors. The ACC was on the atlantic coast and the Pac was on the pacific coast. Now youv'e got teams litearlly on seprate coasts in the same conference. W're going to ahve 20 team super-leagues based on zero logic or regoinality and 100% based on money. THat's yoru idea of amateur athletics?

I don't recall being a fan of OSU or Michigan so IDGAF about their schedule. I'm a fan of UGA and UGA's schedule is now exponentioally harder.

So what!? We gain nothing from this except more injuries and harder games.

yeah, UGA/Bama/OSU/etc beathing the frickign shite out of a 3-loss team ranked 12th is sure going to be great. If after 13 weeks you are only ranked 12th, you ahve zero business competing for a title. At all.

In what universe? Your 13 game season is your resume and shows who you are. By adding like 4-5 extra games you're just introducing more luck and injuries to the equation. We currently have the best setup that's ever existed in CFB, making it bigger doesn't help it at all.

YOu and other people like to pretend that toher people are jsut old codgers and resistant to change which simply isn't true. Going from an archaic bullshite anything goes system of determing a champ to the BCS- that's a good change. Going from only 2 teams being able to play for a title to 4 teams? Another great change. These are chanbges that are helping make thigns better overall but they aren't actually altering the sport itself too mcuh. NIL and conference realignment have altered the fundamentl foundation of the game and it's not able to be changed. It's change for one reason adn one reason only- to make the peopel in charge more money. Period, point blank, end of story. This sin't about the kids, it isn't about teh fans, it isn't about the coaches...it's about money.

It’s over.

Deal with it and embrace it.

Look at nascar compared to where it was 25 years ago. Look at professional golf compared to where it was 5 years ago. Look at the nfl before they expanded to Thursday and Europe and 25 games a season. Look at it all

Nothing gold can stay, pony boy.

It’s over. And irredeemable.

Another civilization and sport gone with the wind

Yes, what a shame we'll not be playing Vandy or USCe and instead have to play Texas or OU some seasons. Noon games against Vandy which are over before they start...great times! Night games against Texas? Ugh, the horror! Who would want to watch that instead of Vandy?

So Michigan was the best team in the country last season? Washington was better than UGA? A healthy FSU was a playoff team over UGA? If the conferences were equally talented, yes, your schedule is a great test. But the conferences have been anything BUT equal. The ACC, via Clemson (and almost FSU), are guaranteed a top 4 ranking despite not playing anyone. Texas and OU both benefitted from the same. The B1G has been an absolute joke outside of tOSU and UM for YEARS. Conference schedules didn't show anyone shite other than the best team in the B1G, ACC, PAC12, and Big12 beat the shite out of all the worthless teams in their conferences.

But you want to watch us play Arkansas instead of OU? A 3-loss team with stacked conferences will be a better team than a 3-loss team last year. I think, here again, you're just worried about UGA having a more difficult road. If you're the best, you're the best.

I enjoy watching competitive football. Family and friends, cooking up good shite, gathering together around the TV, screams, yells, clapping, intrigue, suspense...that's a fricking GREAT time and what I think of when I think of college ball. Anything which provides us with more exciting football, I'm all in favor of.
