If there’s one thing my time on this earth so far has proven for certain over and over. And then over again………It’s that 9 times out of 10, majority-held so-called “conventional wisdom” is almost always 100% wrong.

Which brings us to “The Pruitt Deception”:

Is your gut making you a feel a little uneasy about some of the hysteria in the air right now?

Do you need a litmus test to back that up?......Well, if so, just ask yourself whatever happened to the dorky e-term “Disney Dawg” which used to get regurgitated so often…..

It‘s pretty much gone, right? Nearly extinct………Why? A: Because, NOW, even the people that used to get off calling others “Disneys“…… are themselves swept up in The Pruitt Deception”…..and have become what they used to claim to hate!…….

Dangerous Times friends. There is no balance, right now. Zero.

And, unlike Deeprig’s snake-oil criticisms, this isn’t a knock on Pruitt. It’s just a commentary on what I see as a trap we may be walking in to.

Anyway, like I said though. 9 times out of 10 is when conventional wisdom is wrong. So, I guess we could still get lucky……………….Hope so.

Just in case, though, _ _ _ _’_

I wouldn't be nearly as excited about CJP if last year's defense wasn't so atrocious. I honestly can't imagine how he could do any worse, especially if he's making things more simple for the kids. However, I'm prepared for us to come out slow on defense and improve as the season goes on.

I'm not super thrilled about our prospects on offense, even with our stable of RBs, just because I'm not confident that Mason will be reliable all season long.

You mean the secondary, not the whole defense, right?

2nd year as a defensive coordinator & 5/8 of being a solid coach is nurturing a tuff mentality and developing leadership thru discipline... I remember Saban winning only a couple of games his first year at Bama. Maybe Pruitt can make it happen more quickly... maybe not? BOTTOM LINE: Dawgs have always had talent.

That doesn't get coached up to their ability. Call me Disney if you want but Pruitt is in my spank bank more than backroom casting couch lately. And I love me some BRCC.

FSU looked good in year 1 under his defense. That said...our start against 2 top 15 teams scare me. Pruitt was able to cruise for a while before he faced real competition last year.

Like someone said, it's hard to do worse. Feeling much more optimistic than I would be if TG was in charge.

Just reminds me of Christmas when you’re a kid….and there’s this fancy shiny present under the tree from some relative you never see….with high-dollar wrapping paper…..and ribbons and plaid bows with some miniature pine-cones and fake holly on it……..

Then, you peel that fake shite off, and what‘s inside?

A sweater. And socks. frick!!!!!!!!!!

I don.t know. I’d just feel better if it was like three years ago, when blowhards would shite in their hand and hurl it at you if you mentioned Murray, Heisman-consideration, and/or NFL draft in the same sentence. Cause then you had a gauge. You could measure it, and know you were right.

As it stands, Grantham was 5 yards away from having the exact same endorsement that is making everyone believe in Pruitt. So, I don’t know what to think.

And I feel like it might say something bad about our fanbase the way we have annointed this fricker already.

The few things that are constant under his tutelage, are turnovers, good tackling and fast play. Those win games, period. I'm not expecting a top 10 Defense, but I expect us to stop the arm tackling and the stupid calls on 4 and 20. As long as our defense doesn't lose games for us, I can trust in Richt and Bobo to have our offense winning games. And just to add, when have you heard Richt lie about how a QB is doing? If he says Mason is good, thats enough for me.

I think of it as Mark Richt's (pink aura.)

Todd Grantham was more (translucent.)

And Jeremy Pruitt seems like a guy that prolly makes a bet and doesn't know if he's bluffing or trying to sucker a mfcker (red aura.)

And yet, Pruitt has already received more accolades and adoration by UGA fans than Mike Bobo has in his entire coaching career..............................

Grantham built that defense from scratch. Pruitt got his at FSU from Stoops and was just an assistant to Smart at Bama.

No doubt he's proven at recruiting, so check that off. I take Saban and Smart's word for it by having him coach the secondary, so check that off.

Outside of those two qualifications, he's proven jack shite. I like the fact he's been able to spend his first year in the big boy chair at another place because you always say "If I could have my first year as DC over again, I would definitely do XYZ differently" and we'll be the beneficiaries of that scenario.

So that's all the good I have to say about pruitt.

The bad is that he seems disingenuous to me. Snake in the grass, it's a vibe I get.

I'm not separating the two because it doesn't matter. Obviously the secondary was the biggest problem we had but the defense, as a whole, was under the guidance of CTG.

CJP might not make us any better, but I can't remember when I was so frustrated time and time again watching our defense play last season.

Honest questions. Did you like having CTG as our DC? Were you mad when he left?

Horse shite.

The DL sucked under Garner and made an immediate improvement under Wilson.

Linebackers have all played great under Grantham, a linebacker guy by trade.

Secondary was Lakatos fault.

Grantham is unfairly being sent out to the shite pasture.
