The Connells are still playing occasionally. Most have “ real” jobs and families. They were a good show.

And the Laura Balance signed this guy after his old bands broke up. His first band was one of the better punk bands of all time in my opinion and if you were lucky enough to have seen them play this song live, well, you were lucky.

But before Laura got ahold of Bob, she had to wait for him to make some magic with one of the coolest dudes in Athens , David Barbe…. In a band called Sugar. Dave is a great musician, businessman, and now Professor at UGA… but before he became a responsible adult, he played with Laura Carter in the BBQ killers and Mercyland.

Went to see them every chance I could back in the day. Their music still holds up.
Interesting fact: I was at a conference a couple of years ago having drinks with an attorney we do work with in Raleigh and found out Mike Connell works for his firm doing WC law cases.
