Am I the only guy that thinks Sankey should have shopped the new TV contract around rather than going all in with ESPN/ABC? I remember thinking that at the time when it was being discussed.

The new big ten contracts are going to be much better than the new SEC contract, by all accounts. Their viewership may be higher than SEC viewership but not that much higher to warrant contracts that are not comparable at all.

The business man side of me thinks about these kind of things.

Any opinions? There are not enough intelligent posters on the main Rant board to put this out for comments.

Like them or not, i am a not myself, they are the most powerful force in college football. Having our interests aligned can only be good.

It was already aligned, the CBS deal was only one game a week. Everything else was ESPN/SECN except for odd OOC games with Clemson or Notre Dame where someone else's TV rights took affect.

The only thing I gather from most of this is that we are going to have to endure even more of Beth Mowins commentary.. Am I correct?

This is why God invented the WSB Radio app and bluetooth connections, synched up with DVR technology on your television device.

SEC has content
B1G has eyeballs

The modern game is about $$$$ so eyeballs are worth more than content

NFL really is national but CFB is still regional. Adding U$C and UCLA was all about money over content. We had all this over a century ago (Super Conferences and paying players) till the US government stepped in. Went back to not paying players and smaller regional groups.

How does this work? Get WSB app on phone. Pair to your soundbar. And pause TV until is syncs up with app? What is app is ahead of the TV?

That is correct.

Update-

I don't actually use the WSB Radio app. I got confused because I do use their weather app. I just use Safari to go to the WSB site and click the live streaming thingy and let it stream. The delay is longer than the TV delay so that's what makes it possible. You'll be watching about 20 seconds behind real time once you get it synched up. Also, you may need to adjust a couple times a game, coming in and out of big breaks like halftime etc. There is a minor hassle factor to it. But it's worth it for good commentary. I have found using queues like kicks are easiest to synch up with, when you need a resynch.

That’s my question. As long as the audio is behind the video it’s good.
