NFL OC with a great coaching pedigree...whats not to like?

This is nothing like that. Schotteheimer had poor offenses with the Jets and the Rams. Chaney has had good offenses with Purdue and Tennessee. He's shown he can put points up. The only thing Schotteheimer proved is he can coach a QB to run into a huge arse then fumble it.

I didn't mean the the coaches were the same...the situations are, with the divided opinions.

Worries me too. Main complaint I have heard is that he abandons the run game pretty easily, especially late in games. He supposedly just starts airing it out at the end of games on 3rd and shorts and doesn't grind the game out.

I still have my reservations.

All of this is true. Balance and down and distance goes out the door with him when he's losing. When you have Drew Brees, its NBD. When you don't...he's trouble.

FWIW Chaney was watching the WRs during the media viewing period so I wonder if he was observing BMac to see if he wants to keep him.

I've liked this hire from the beginning. I'm optimistic that my fellow Dawgs will like it 12 months out.

Might not be so bad compared to running for two yards or taking a knee with time left in the half like we have been doing. Going Balls Out would at least give us a chance.
