Price is not important unless you are trying to impress the neighbors. Buy what you personally like the taste of and leave the snobbery at the door.

You might want to check out Willett distillery in Bardstown. Most modern brands are from liquor giants and did not exist before the 1980's. The Willett family has been in the business for centuries so may make a bourbon that actually tastes like it did 200 years ago.

Celebrating a joyous occasion is not the time to clip coupons or go bargain hunting at Big Lots. This is still kind of America. And such times call for blowing good money on something frivolous and unnecessary. If youstudy the ancients and they did the same thing even back into caveman times.

Really looking forward to next week. Week Zero sucks so far like methadone. I need th real thing

We were able to get a bottle of Blanton's Gold Label yesterday for my buddy’s bachelor party. We all took a cup and signed it for him after. Good times.

There was a scoop and score before halftime though in the Nebraska-Illinois game where the sound of the post-scandemic crowd-roar caught me off guard. And it hit me pretty hard how long it's been since hearing that. It was a great moment

Nice. I don't know much about bourbons, but I've had Blantons and it spoiled me. I didn't realize how inferior most other bourbons are comparatively

I thoroughly enjoyed watching that game. I usually can't get it up for two teams I don't care about but this one was great.

Anybody ever had Makers Black or Makers Gold?

When it was still owned by Americans in the 80's you could get it but since the Japs bought it, the Black and the Gold have been for the Japan market only and I have not been to Japan, nor do I plan to go there in the future.

@ Jefferson

I agree on splurging when celebrating, just saying you do not have to spend top dollar for the best product. I can buy Chinese rabbit in the store but much happier getting some American rabbit in the country (DO NOT eat city rabbit).
