You pass by any churches on way to get gas?
That particular gas station, there are two I would have passed. One is a 100+ year old primitive baptist church with a very small parish that the cops use to radar people and watch the stop sign at the corner of Tribble Mill and Ozora Rd. The second one is a bigger non-denominational that has youth pastor rock bands and such.

no but I have another lawn question that needs your expertise. I will try to take a picture since the answer probably iusn't answerable without a pic but oh well. We recently tore out the entire backyard and laid new sod. HAlf of hte old backyards was this thick brambly mess of trees and brush and weeds and just shite in general. I'm not a green thumb so I guess i didn't realize all that shite will remain in the soil even after you get rid of all of it, because even now wiht the new sod I can see the beginnigns of these piece of shite tree things trying to pop up. BEst I can describe is they are almost purple in color and have thorns on them. So far I've just been picking them when they come up but I went to lowes the other day and bought some kind of spray that is supposed to target brush and vines so who knows maybe that'll work. I would imgainge that there is SOME kind of product on the market that will be just what I need but I don't know what it is .Any ideas off the bat without a picture?

Be careful you don’t kill the grass with that spray. I’d recommend some weed or crabgrass killer that is safe for lawns. Throw that down when it’s time and just mow to chop off the weeds. They’ll eventually lose their will to live.

On the front I use some very safe/generic broadleaf weed killer with no issues. This definitely isn't a traiditonal "weed" type thing though and looks more like the beginning of a small tree.
eta: also I used one in the corner as a guinea pig and just sprayed a small bit on the leaves to see what happens. I definitely don't want to harm the grass but the info sheet on the back made it seem liek it'd be fine.

Bermuda. Zone 8a.
After some googling it appears what I may have is wineberry. This little shite right here looks like what I've got:
But min are very small and only get to about 6" or so before I start plucking them.

"Brushkiller" kills everything. What's the name of the poison you bought?

I don't remember right now but I made sure to avoid buying "weed and grass' killer, or anything that metnioend kiklling grass.
On the back it said that if some got onto some warm season grass it may discolor briefly but it woudl be fine, never said anythign about killing it. I was still a little leery though which is why I only tried a very small sample and didn't get it on the grass itself.

What kind of sod? Bermuda, st augustine, zoysia, other?
These all make a big difference on what you can spray on them safely.

Find a small bottle of something that has 2,4-d, dicamba, and MCCP.
Domyownpestcontrol is pretty cheap. 3-D by Quali Pro is a good option. 1/oz per gallon of water. Wear gloves and eye protection and don't let your dogs lick your shoes or play in the yard for a day or so.
You can mix a surfactant (dish soap) in the sprayer to help it stick more since it's a small stem.

2 4 d also kills some types of grasses. We need to know what kind of grass he put down.

He said Bermuda a few posts up

I see now. But we still need to know what stuff he bought already.

Something else about 2,4d is it works slowly so many of the target weeds still mature and throw seeds before they die. It's only effective, in my experience, when combined with a pre-emergent that prevents seed germination.

If you're trying to have legit lawn pre emergent is a must. Not just twice a year, but quarterly.
Never noticed the delay in the effects when I used it. It was mostly high heat summer days when I applied it though.

That's when the label says not to apply it over bermuda.
