Who is going to the game and where’s the best parking? How’s riding the Marta up from the south?

I'll be there.

Ride marta, it provides far fewer headaches. The only reason I canthink of to drive and get a parking pass is 1) you do your own tailgate and need all your supplies and stuff, 2) you're on an extreme time crunch and need to leave at like 6:30 and get the hell out of town quickly and can't wait on public transport

Other than that, it is MUCH cheaper and often times quicker/more convenient on marta. I'm not sure coming from the south differs much from any other direction. Technically if you want to get dropped off at the gate coming from the south you'd need ot get off at 5 points and transfer to an west bound train, but it's only 1 stop so that's not really necessary dependign on your walking ability. It's like 0.7 mile walk from the 5 points station to the Benz so if you come up from the south and get off at 5 points you've got a short walk to the satdium.

Do you need a pass to ride the train? Was thinking of using that but wasn’t sure how easy it would be to get ticketed. I’m gonna show up early and look around for a bit.

There are ticketing kiosks at the entrance of each station. It'll spit out a little card you use to scan at the gate. The card is loaded up with however many rides you purchase...sounds like you'd need two. It'll run you about $6, total.

Yes. You can get a reloadable breeze card for $2 or a non-reloadable paper breeze pass for $1.

When you enter the station you'll see a bank of kiosks against the wall, jsut go to the kiosk and follow the directions. Select breeze pass, and load it with 2 trips for $5 (it's $2.50 per trip). That'll get you there and back. You can use credit card at the kiosk to pay. Once all that is done you'll scan the breeze pass at the little entry gate then board your train. If you're coming from the south it doesn't matter if you get on red or yellow line, any train going north will work.

In my experience it can take an hour just to get out of the parking deck. There's really no fast way out unless you park a mile away, you'd be able to walk a mile in 15 minutes (if you survive) get in your car and haul arse.

There are plenty of spots to park that take 20min or less to get out of around stadium.

Best place to tailgate is Home Depot Backyard right beside the stadium. It is where the Dome used to sit. Not even sure how people get the passes there. I always get one on the secondary market and put on my expense card because I entertain a lot of clients there throughout the day. Expensive though. I paid $820 after fees on Stub Hub for the space. I would never do that if it was out of my pocket.

Used to live in Peachtree City on the south side. Been a few years but always parked at College Park station. Hop on train. Put some OutKast on your headphones and try to see how many geographical landmark references you can pick up.

Weather is looking like crap. We made reservations and going to just watch the early game and have long lunch then head to stadium early. I’ve had enough rain tailgates this year.

I've been to a ton of Atlanta United games and concerts where MB stadium was either packed or sold out. We always parked at the parking deck at Luckie and Cone streets. It's about a mile to walk to the stadium. After the event it's really easy to go against the main flow to get on the interstate at I-20. The heaviest traffic flow is on Centennial Park drive and Marietta/Decatur street.
