Northern NM/Las Vegas

I was in Albuquerque, Santa Fe and Taos this summer. I was driving on the interstate near Santa Fe and saw Las Vegas on a sign with the mileage not being very far away. I thought I must be totally messed up because there’s no way I could be that close to Las Vegas. Then I realized the reference was to Las Vegas, NM.

One stop was at the Buffalo Thunder Resort and Casino outside of Santa Fe which was a really neat and massive place.

Something eventful always has to happen so at the end of my stay in Santa Fe going back to Albuquerque to catch my flight I had a flat on my rental car within about ten miles of the airport and managed to get off the freeway. I thought I was going to miss my flight but I was able to change it fast enough to get back to the rental car place and make my flight on time.

HaHa You can check your bags, go through security, and be at your gate in like 10-20 minutes at the Sun Port. No need to be there hours ahead of time. I love Northern New Mexico, I think its a hidden gem as people think New Mexico is a desert shithole. We have all 4 seasons here with very mild summers and very mild winters. The Fall around here has to be up there with the best places on earth. Heck you can ski in a tee shirt and don't need air conditioning in the summer, but at times you need a coat in July at night. 6400 ft will cool it down real nice at night.

Yes, the Albuquerque airport experience wasn't bad at all and the rental car place was close to the airport and the shuttle was always on time. Being in the PreCheck program helped, too.

A couple of colleagues of mine flew in and out of Santa Fe on a puddle jumper and they said that airport was really laid back. I read where the control tower was not manned overnight.

The weather was outstanding and pleasant in Santa Fe and North to Taos, a nice break from Southern summers.

Games this year where the UGA crowd has impacted the final score IMO:

All home games
Notre Dame
Vandy
Florida
Georgia Tech
SECCG

I'm sure we'll be loud, but I want that place freaking sounding like a home game in there. Let's do work gentlemen

Norther New Mexico is everything good about Colorado, Wyoming and Montana without the assholes in Colorado and the rich Pricks in the other two! New Mexico is a gem....my area of the state is West Texas without as many Texans LOL....30 miles west of us though, south to Texas and North to Colorado is some of the most beautiful areas in the US......and you can literally camp out for days on end and never hear another vehicle, let alone see any people.

I fly from Carlsbad NM to ABQ or DFW every 4-5 weeks and we don't even have security in Carlsbad LOL.....seriously.....I've flown to DFW to shoot ducks and geese South of Houston and you carry your cased gun to the co-pilot, he takes it until everyone is seated and then takes it to the back of the plane and sticks it behind a cargo net LOL.....$78 RT to ABQ and $138 to DFW LOL.....

Rose Bowl Check-in There's charter fishing available out of Marina del Rey, too.

Thanks! I think they have decided on Legolas Land so we will be in Carlsbad. I talked to a boat down there and they said they thought there half day trip would make. I really don't want to drive all the way to SD and I don't have time for a long range trip.....but man they are slaying the Blue Fin right now....on boat in San Diego Monday caught 42 on a full day trip with 19 fishermen....that's incredible in my experience in SD......especially on a full day $110 trip!

Not sure if it has been mentioned, check out SoCal dawgs Facebook page. It is alumni of UGA who live around the rose bowl and will have a lot of things going on for Dawg fans.

If you bought tickets through StubHub don't wait until close to game time to get them. We went to FSU vs Oregon just cuz we were out in Cali. The line to get your tickets was several hundred people deep.
