It's weird, but I care more about how the recruiting class shakes out than I do the Gator Bowl

And I was at the Sugar Bowl when Penn State beat us for the natty

I definitely care about the Gator Bowl, want us to even the record

But I am anxious to see if our lard arse OC can pull a few top notch offensive skill players, especially if the kid from out west shite cans ud

Can fat boy reel in any croots?

I feel the same. The bowl is really really important to me but ultimately this clas determines the future and the gator bowl will see BMac leading a bunch of GAs

I don't have a lot of confidence in the bowl game. Has a team ever won it's bowl when they were missing their number 1 running back, their head coach, and both their offensive and defensive coordinators? The cards are really stacked against us for this game. Not to mention the team being led by a shitty transfer QB.

I just hope we keep it close.

I think we all are interested in how the class shakes out under the new staff and that the bowl game is underwhelming but... The bowl game isn't about us. It's about the guys who have strapped up for four years at UGA. It's about their blood, sweat, and tears. The guys who tore ACLs, had concussions, broken bones, ... The Keith Marshall's and Malcolm Mitchell's. The guys who have busted their asses so we can sit around as self proclaimed experts, myself included. These guys have been through the ringer. The best thing we can do as fans is throw our support behind them. If we can go, go. The worst thing we can do is be apathetic about it. Sets a bad example for the guys who are considering Athens as a destination. We love these guys when they sign, we should show the same love when they leave. Especially under the circumstances they are dealing with now. Go Dawgs!!!

I have this weird feeling that we come out with nothing to lose and beat the shite out of Penn State. Malcolm has himself a game, Sony does his thing, the defense goes ape shite on Hackenberg, who has his mind on the draft...idk this one can go either way

Hope you're right, and I agree with bofadeez. Hope my post didn't imply that I wasn't supportive. Just being prepared for what could be a bad day.

Is it a playoff game? No NY6? Nope, Ok then no fricks to give on to recruiting.

I bet you're the loud mouth guy sitting a few rows up in the stands that thinks he knows better than the coaches on the field and everyone around you wishes you would just STFU.

Did I strike a nerve? I hope the boys go and have a blast, although it seems most of them were not thrilled with the destination and who can blame them they were just there in Oct. and at this bowl couple years ago.

Outside of them having fun the game is meaningless it's time to look toward the future.

The recruiting class is much much more important than this bowl game. Sure I would love to see us win but I would much rather finish with a top 5 class and lose than finish 8th and win. However, the two aren't mutually exclusive so I'm hoping we finish with a great class and beat the brakes off of this James Franklin lead team. It's an odd scenario though and I honestly think people have pretty low expectations for us in this game with all of the shake ups.

This ^ sounds like a comment a shitty fan would make. Just my observation.

I would say it means more to them. It would mean 40 wins for the seniors for their career. It means going out on a winning note. They deserve our support not us looking toward the future. Hell we can take a weekend or a few hours off from looking to the future to support the guys we have now.

Not really it's connected to the old regime. I'm excited to see the changes that are made, and what Kirby is going to do going forward. It's just interesting to know the status quo from Richt will change, flop or soar.

Not really

So you've just confirmed to everyone reading this thread that you aren't really a fan unless we're competing for titles, fairweather basically.

Seems a "fan" would care if we win every game we ever play, regardless of what's on the line.

The BCS took most of the joy out of these bowls, and the playoff choked what little was left right out if it. As a fan if we are not going to a big game do away with confernce tie-in and let the bowls bid for teams. We have a rotation of about 4 places we will go it gets stale.

Richt was fired because everyone is tired of mediocre Florida bowl games.
