It will be a "rebuilding" year in that I don't think we should come out expecting to make the playoffs, but we aren't going 8-4 or anythign. WE should still be the odds on favorite to win the east.

It's no Caleb King/Washaun Ealy tandem but they might still get some production.

We should be better than last year. Everyone is back except the DeAndres. I don't see OC and DC change being a huge difference. We'll run the same systems with a few tweaks.

Not sure I can buy into that right now.

-QB will be as good or better but there's zero depth
-WR will likely be worse
-TE will likely be worse
-RB is probably equivalent, although a guy we're going to rely on bigly has never taken a snap and is coming off 2 knee surgeries
-OL should be elite

-DL should be better
-ILB should be equivalent or a smidge better
-OLB probably equivalent
-CB will be worse
-S will be equivalent

Looking strictly on paper we're probably not going to be as good overall...we have a frickton of talent but so much is unproven and untested. Could end up being much better or much worse. We're also breaking in 2 new coordinators which is never ideal. Not to mention the schedule is more difficult as well.

It’ll be interesting to see how Florida does with high expectations this year.

I expect 2019 UGA to be the best team of my lifetime if Fromm stays healthy.

No excuses. The roster is fricking loaded.

We have to admit swift is a bigger drop off than we expected. We are Georgia!! Stampeding over Kentucky means nothing

Swift is a stud. He was awesome when he got healthy.

If you think the RB room is "meh," you need to take a serious look around the country. It's probably the best one.

I think that honor would go to 2020, assuming fromm comes back.

As far as the roster goes, top to bottom this is surely the "most talented" roster we've ever had, but so much of it is untested freshmen and sophomores.

I meant my lifetime to date. Sorry that was unclear.

It isn't that untested. College rosters always have turnover. UGA hasn't had any more than most really. Lost a few early, but not that many seniors.

ETA: The only position group that really got hit was WR, and UGA still has a lot there.

I think you're under-selling all of these tbh

What do UGA fans consider a "rebuilding" year?

I'm an outsider obviously, so my opinion doesn't really count, but when I look at your schedule and the talent returning next year, I see a worst case scenario of losing 2 of Texas A&M, Florida, Notre Dame, and Auburn...at most.

At this current time and on our present trajectory, I think a rebuilding year is one that we go into it not fully expecting to contend for the playoffs.

And I coudl be wrong of course I just think we lost a bit too much to graduation adn early exit. We are slowly year by year getting to that bama type of roster where shite like that doesn't matter because you just plug in the next 5*. But we aren't there yet.

Then we have a development problem. This will make three straight elite recruiting classes. There are 5*s all over the roster. The vast majority of UGA's team will be either 5* or 4*.

we will in a year or 2. Bama had top 2 classes for about 9 straight years. Eventually it will be a point where we aren't counting heavily on the Tae Crowder's and David Marshall's of the world (nothing against those guys btw) and we will simply plug in another all conference/all american type of player. We're on the verge but 3 classes in a row doesn't completely turn over/overhaul the roster, especially the roster we started out with.

I think this might be the most improved unit in 2019. Really excited to see Smith, Anderson, Cox next season.

You only have 4 classes and a very small group of 5th year seniors on the roster at one time, generally. Bama's #1 class of 2012 isn't doing anything for them right now.

David Marshall and Tae Crowder both have the tools to be NFL players, so I'm not sure they're really holding anything back.

I think it's always seemed so unattainable to have a roster like that that people don't believe it when it happens.
