Yeah he was a good coach. A school located where UGA is can literally be fricking juggernaut with an elite coach. I'm glad he's gone. I just didn't think it would be Kirby who would do it at the time

Solid coach, great person, but UM did what all Richt's teams have done since his last SEC championship in 2005, choked in a big moment
I will always hope he does well there, unless they are playing the DaWGs

Agree totally. I am a Right fan but it is obvious he has frustration that go way beyond a few missed calls.

I saw him like that twice:
1. Mississippi State he throw down his headset and call sheet in the numbers.
2. He screamed at a kid during a camp and said arse.
Lol, he was nearly upset in those moments as he was last night but somebody has to do something about the officiating. It’s AWFUL!
My wife was appalled at these two instances of Richts behavior, btw.

Pretty much my sentiments. Mark took our program to a higher level but IMO he had taken us as far as we could go under his leadership. What was missing was lack of recruiting in the trenches and roster management in general and discipline. In just 2 years under Smart, we appear to be a better coached team and we are definitely recruiting better.

Some here are showing almost a disgust of CMR. He raised this program out of the mire of the Goff and Donnan years and brought us 2 SEC titles and 2 more shots at it, including being 5 yards away from playing in the BCSNCG. He brought UGA back to a place of national relevance and recruited at a high level; we are still benefiting from his recruits.
There's no need to trash the man. He has moved on and so have we.

I am glad tech isn't as good as they were in those seasons. Still finished ranked in all 3 of those seasons.

They were ranked in '01,'06 and '08
Also had losing records vs AU,UT and UF and beat 1 top
10 team in 5 years.

Richt did bring the program to a new level and was a very good coach. I think a lot of the trashing has been aimed more towards the fan base thought UGA was stupid to want a new coach and ridiculed those that wanted Richt gone. This went on for YEARS.
No different than the constant "Kirby sucks at coaching" comments from last year. "Look what a dumb decision we made..". "You'll be wishing for 10 win seasons again..." and so on.
We're in the playoffs and I couldn't care less about Miami. I agree that we shouldn't trash him. Time to let it go....

Tech finished ranked from 97-00 and only finished ranked 4x since then. We know 1999 loss was a load of bs and maybe 98.
