Seen on the game thread on tScoreboard:

A close loss and no way but to be this inept? Against a 5-5 punching bag SEC team? As far as I'm concerned, I'm done with him

The Bama loss puts us in because we own all the tie breakers for the remaining 2 loss teams.

Hard to beat a great team twice - I'd rather play A&M

Agree. Never thought I would say this but I was happy to miss the SEC championship. It’s not totally pointless but it’s a chance to face a quality team and face an L vs going directly into the playoffs. Seems like an extra hoop to jump through.
Looks like we are in though. Wow. Did not see it coming

With all the chaos last night, we now have a home field playoff game (assuming we beat Tech). can we opt out of the SECCG?

IF we beat Tech.
Oddly the SECCG gives us a hedge to the playoffs with a Tech loss.
Hope this doesn’t cause us to lose focus.
You HAVE to win the SECCG. Good chance we still make the playoffs with a Tech win and SECCG loss BUT would be on the road.

We match up pretty well though with Texas which is why I think the first game went as it did. If we get the CB we’ve seen the past few weeks it could be a blowout. But this team and this season has been so Jekyll and Hyde who knows.
