As a Georgia fan, I lurk here quite a bit, but this thread is mildly depressing to read from all vantage points from our fan base.
The thread has strayed far from the original question, but I would interpret the statement as having a racial element to it. It's not that it's blatant, but it has the undertones of such. I'm not well versed in how much of the national debt is actually caused by welfare recipients, but certain words obviously evoke particular images in our minds.
I don't know you personally and have no idea if you'd actually discriminate against someone on the basis of their race, so it'd be unfair for me to label you an actual racist.
For what it's worth, I'm black, grew up relatively well off and have been called an uncle tom/white all my life...

No, not even a little. It is truth and truth is not racist, just honest. Even if some don't want or like to hear it.
