Maybe Rick Steves delivers her the atomic bomb?

I don’t know who Rick Steves is, but I think the two separate times that he is referenced are important.
The first time is in the ice motel in the flashback with her lover Helen. The second time is with Zosia in the present when they have a vodka and attempt to get to know each other
We haven’t had a lot of time to get to know Helen, but it’s striking how kind and patient and loving she is in contrast to her lover Carol who can’t even be happy staring at the Aurora Borealis in a swanked out ice fort or when finding out her book is a best seller. Helen points these facts about Carol to her directly. Not in a critical or mean spirited way, but in an almost motherly way. In an unconditional love kind of way. It’s very obvious they want us to see Helen’s impressive love for Carol. How she intimately understands Carols ill tempered cremugion quirks , but loves her unconditionally warts and all.
Fast forward to vodka talk with Carol and Zosia. And the same exact dynamic is in play. Angry miserable perpetually frustrated Carol and kind and patient perpetually calm Zosia who would give her a grenade or atom bomb if it would make Carol happy.
The only major difference between these two scenes (besides the obvious where one is a hive mind rep) is that so far…. Helen was the only one that can get through Carol’s frustrated temper and grumpiness. The only one that can get her to let her guard down and somewhat self reflect
Anyway, it seems to me that if Carol Sturka were to ever take a break from writing romantasy pirate novels and wanted to write a serious book, she might choose to write a sci fi novel with themes exploring her real life actual struggles with happiness and how she sees the real world. A place she doesn’t quite fit. A place where she is isolated due to her emotional wiring that makes her different than most everyone else. And that’s what Plur1bus is. This is the “serious book” referenced in episode 1. Helen was even the one that suggested she take time off to write it. I’m pretty convinced of this now. The code is cracked. Maybe. If so, sorry to spoil the entire series ending for anyone that actually read this far

About to rewatch episode 3 with a clean slate because sometimes stepping away from a puzzle for a bit unlocks things

Right out of the gates, after the Norwegian bell hop makes Lines in the snow, Carol is framed with an elaborate butterfly behind her
This is inpirtant because based on my series ending prediction I went back and watched Carol and Helen’s conversation about the real book she should take time off to write . It had a title…
“Bitter chrysalis “
You know what bitter means, but Perplexity search what a chrysalis is
Code cracked

just finished episode 3. First of all, show is confusing and hard to follow and I may have to go back and rewatch ep3. I'll post my thoughts later on but so far - I think you might be onto something about her novel.

People will call this a slow and boring episode but I found it to be wonderful. Magnificent.
People Pleasures vs Hive Pleasures- Heroin. The truth serum.

Well. I took a big swing with my Bitter Chrysalis Is Plur1bus theory and may have struck out.
But it could also be that bitter chrysalis is so obviously Pluribus that episode 4 is already trying to throw us off the scent of it. And Carol shooting up and admitting she thinks Zosia is frickable reinforces that shite. I’m not giving up on the theory. I think they knew some of us would figure it out early
I don’t know.
What I do know is that this episode was one of the biggest Line festivals in the entire trilogy
Carol literally underLined the word “change” on the white board (chrysalis means change) like how the Paraguayan storage manager crossed all of the bad radio frequencies out with a line
One thing that is fascinateing is how they are walking the Line of Carol being so hateable and also the supposed hero at the same time

Percolation:
Parallels
- the Paraguayan dog food eater was making lists in the beginning this one. Of radio frequencies. And crossing things out. With lines
-Later, Carol was also making lists . Clearly writer’s lists. Her trade. Where she fleshes characters characteristics out to fit in the larger story. And undeLining things. Wupith lines

On very specifically lined paper.

Do you remember the page number when Helen gave up on reading Bitter Chrysalis?? When Carol was asking for the cold hard truths
I think that’s important
