Coincidence but I made a batch of Moonshine Garlic hot sauce yesterday...Used this legal moonshine, Junior Johnsons Midnight Moon, $17.00 for a pint...

Bad moonshine made improperly can make you go blind or even kill you.

The guy is originally from Alaska and said they use it to help light firewood...

Funny growing up hearing stories about my grandfather. Always kept a possom or some other critter in the trunk.....with the shine.....so if he went to jail, he at least got a laugh out of it

If they ran it just 3 times and still only got to 140 then they are serious fricking amateurs and that shite will kill you.

It's the first part of the shine that comes out, you pour it out because it's full of deadly methanol.
If you ran it 30 times you would have poured all your liquor out.
That means he's either lying to you or he wasn't pouring the first runnings out.
I wouldn't drink.
If he literally meant "filter" then that's even worse.
Even a backwoods rig puts out clear shine if it's put together properly and you pour out the first runnings.
The fact they felt the need to filter it 2x, 3x, much less 30 times, you are drinking poison.
Unless, of course, the guy is a liar and full of shite.
In which case, I still wouldn't drink it.
Tell me Chris... can you see any kind of sheen/film on the top, holding it at various angles, kind of like a pinkish purplish sheen at all?

Unless it was a very large run there is usually just enough methanol to give you a really,really,really bad hangover. I have drink enough bad moonshine to know.FYI if taxes were paid on it....it ain't moonshine, it's corn liquor
