Saul never killed anyone. Never assaulted anyone. Never encouraged anyone to kill or assault or steal from anyone. He had the chance to rip off the Kettlemen's, didn't do it. He had the chance to rip off Lalo. He didn't do it. I may need to rewatch BB but I think his role was really just a sleazebag attorney who was doing his work at the point of a gun in reality.
I think the purpose of the winnebago flasback and the flashback of Mike and Saul discussing Walt in the cathedral of justice were suppose to show us that Saul truly does believe that Walt couldnt have accomplished what he eventually did without him. And so therefore walt never could have hurt as many innocent people as he did without Saul.
In the flashback, mike tells Saul not to waste his time with the chemistry teacher. That he was a waste of time and would be in jail in a month or two. But then it shows Saul in next scene walking up to Walt’s high school and then it cuts off. We know from BB what happened next though. that Saul did go to Walts classroom that one day contrary to mike’s advice, and the rest is history. So Mike says walt would be jail in a few weeks, and so,Saul thinks “ shite, Im the one that kept that monster out of jail all these years and look at all the destruction and carnage and deaths it caused.”
At least, thats what i think they tried to set up for us to believe, And thats pretty much what he says in the finale court scene where he turns back into jimmy
As for Saul’s crimes in BB, hthere were many though. And he definitely encouraged murders, etc. He called it “taking a trip to Belize.” He even helped with Walt’s plot to poison the mexican kid and make jessie think it was his fault. Saul got Huell to pick pocket the cig off Jessie remeber?

I will need to re-binge BB.
I understand the BB fans enjoy all the BB code, "easter eggs" and whatnot, but people that were never into BB should still be able to follow and make sense of the plots with BCS as a standalone show.
I only first watched BB when BCS went on their first ridiculously long hiatus. Binged it real fast. Many details didn't stick, apparently. Kind of sucks to not fully appreciate the end of BCS without having the secret decoder rings from all of the BB cereal box tops.

I liked the finale. I thought it stuck with the theme of the show. I think the whole point was for Jimmy to kill off Saul, get redemption, and win Kim back; which he did. I don't follow how he exonerates Kim with his confession either. I'm going to miss this show. Well written and great acting.

That may be true for BCS, but the black and white scenes aren’t part of the Better Call Saul prequel though.
These scenes are in black and white because it’s a time machine jump to a sequel. A sequel showing what happens to Saul after the events of Breaking Bad have taken place long after BCS.

Ok, then I don't like how Better Call Gene ended.

I started rewatching Breaking Bad again this week to try and get rid of the shakes. Never realized that the douchebag in the red bmw that Walt sets on fire in third episode is the same douchbag that Kim and Jimmy pull their first ever scam on. The Giselle and Viktor hotel bar scam where Kim keeps the fancy tequila bottle top thing

No BCS tonight. Probably going to restart BB again like you.

I used to think I was lucky to of never heard of Breaking Bad when it was on television and how I got to watch it on demand.
I was dead wrong.I missed so much watching it that way
Just finished rewatching season 2 which I hated the first time . And now realize I missed the entire point.
It’s where the lines first appear

The first lines were about fatherhood.

I'm almost done with season one (for the second time). Turning it back on now.

Another thing from season 2 is, the black and white from the gene timeline wasnt the first time they used that to portray the future. I never remebered that, Most of the opener teaser things for each episode in season 2 are flash forward teaser mysteries and theyre all in black and white. When theyre showing the burnt stuffed animal in Walts pool and the mysterious evidence bags and the body bags, all of which end up being carnage from the midair collision that happens at end of season.
