Remember in one of the flashback episodes he told his secretary Francesca was to make a phone call on November something in 2010. It seems like we are in October 2010 so we have to be close to that phone call. Will it be Kim?
I think Kim and Mike may still be in contact either with her handling his money for the granddaughter or something to that effect.
Carol Burnett character may just be scamming Gene. She seems to be a no nonsense gal who inevitably saw the story of the meth kingpin and lawyer who went on the run.
The next three episodes are titled Breaking Bad, Waterworks, and Saul Gone. They say Walt and Jesse are making cameos I can’t wait to see how that plays out. Maybe Walt and Jesse meet Kim somehow?
I enjoyed last episode and had my favorite montage of this season.

Hard to say exactly at this point without any context. Other than 100% for sure it means something. And that for sure the reason there's absence of lines for the first time ever is because we're actually on the doorstep of the end. Where hopefully some answers to where the lines have been leading are

Is it actually a fake out flash-back long before the Lines/trajectories started connecting, colliding, influencing? (Notice how happy, playful, and carefree Jimmy's voice sounds. I don't see this being Saul or Gene speaking these words like that) Or maybe is it in the future when the trajectories have reached their terminus? (Is the person driving these lineless roads free from all of this carnage or possibly knowingly heading to a place where they terminate with no way out [cough, cough, jail]) Or maybe the usual road Lines/trajectories are absent so that we focus on the crossroads themselves as the Lines. Maybe this foreshadows the end. Does someone make a decision? (to turn himself in / to turn someone in?) Who knows. I love this show and trying to figure it out like a riddle

I need help with the teaser audio though. I distinctly hear a female voice saying "okay". And it sounds almost exactly like Kim to me. Not saying I believe it's Kim because these things have almost always been fake outs lately, but does the word "okay" sound like JImmy/Saul/Gene sp[eaking to you or does it sound like a gal is part of the conversation too?

I need to know what is on the grocery list on the fridge. And I need to know if those are dank nugs in the tupperware on top of the fridge.

Well, the universe is shaped exactly like the earth
If you go straight long enough youll end up where you were
And the universe is shaped exactly like the earth
if you go straight long enough
You'll end up where you were

There's also a shot of Marion standing in front of these non sensical wooden vertical Line decorative bars that completely block and cancel the purpose of her breakfast nook and aren't load bearing in any way. I've been trying to find a photo, but no luck so far

They serve no purpose at all other than symbolism. Zero.

This is best I could find. Look at the vertical lines to her right

In the episode there’s scenes of her straight on with the wooden bars behind her

Every excuse possible is made to incorporate this shite

It's a distraction from the binoculars sitting on the cookbooks to the left of the sink.

For the handful of people that read this thread and take it seriously:

-nothing in this show is random or half assed. You know that , so….

Q: Why do you think they chose to have Gene sing “I cant drive 55” to get a high 5 out of Marion? Are, each pf them unable to leave well enough alone? And they have to compulsively hit the gas pedal whenever limits are set ?

What is going on?

Go on and write me up for 1-25….
Post my face, wanted dead or alive
Take my license, all that jive
I can't drive……
FIFTY-FIVE!!!!!
!!!

-Jimmy isnt cut out for the 9 to 5 schlub world he has in Omaha
-Hes always needed an angle
-Always bending the rules just enough to get an edge
-He gets off and thrives on that
-Jimmy cant drive 55!!!! You see?

-He tried being joe schmoe Gene at the 55 mph speed limit for a few months and he was absolutely miserable
-Until he hammered the gas pedal down again in the jeffy scam
-And hes like a new man now. Refreshed and energized. Almost happy

-But you know what happens when you speed.
-You eventually get pulled over.

And did you notice what was in background when Jimmy tried calling her from the payphone? It was a giant sign for the all-u-can-eat all day breakfast buffet at Big Fred's or whatever.

Again... Gene while trying to reach Kim for first time in years is framed by a sign advertising all day all-u-can-eat bacon. AKA a horker's heaven and one-thousand percent an on-purpose symbolic call-back to Kim's season 6 glutony and gross table manners. That was about as subtle as just spelling it out on the screen for us in subtitles..."Dudes, don't forget about how hungry Kim was all the time and how she gnaw-gobbled everything in sight like a raccoon with tape worms."

I liked this episode though. I liked it a lot. THis is more like what I was hoping to get in the black and white than what we got last week. Last week was a major let down. And I'm proud of myself for staying patient and not shitting all over it because, boy oh boy, that was not anything I wanted to see in the 4th to last episode. That was a head scratcher. But, they absolutely had to transition with something hokey like last episode though. They couldn't just jump straight to Gene breaking bad completely. He had to dip his toe back in slowly. It had to be gradual and mostly harmless at first. And it had to be shown that it was whatever he heard on the Kim phone-call that really made him break completely bad again. That being full blown Saul Goodman is always about hiding the pain.

And so we got to see that this was what the black and white crossroads trajectory line symbolism thing was all about. He had dealt with the Jeffy situation and buttoned things up in Omaha. He's touched base with Franchesca and gotten caught up on things, and while the heat is still on, he can be confident now that he is a step ahead and has a secure and safe spot carved out in Omaha if he keeps his head down. But then he gets to the crossroads... Just keep going and the trajectory line heads straight back to safe, secure, sweet boring dull anonimity. But right when he gets to the crossroads is whe he decides to try and call the Hork Queen. And after that phone call, there's no going back. He's done with the safe secure anonimity line trajectory. He's Saul Goodman again. COMplete with hookers and a foot shker machine back on the same old line trajectory where everyone around him ends up getting hurt

There was something where they probably might have tipped their hand a little too much though. Giving Marion the computer and internet is almost as subtle as in Season 3 when Mike popped into Chuck's house and noted "Hey, there sure are a lot of old newspapers and things lying around that violate fire marshall codes and create a safety issue. ANyway, gotta run. Have a nice day." Yeah, thanks for the not so subtle foreshadowing mike. And here we are again. This time thinking your going to give a lonely old lady a laptop and she's just going to be content with watching cat videos and not use it instead to figure out who Gene really is. But, that's fine. That will still be awesome. Maybe that American Greed video will pop up on auto-paly on youtube after one of her cat videos.

Also, the outside windows of Marion's house are all covered in vertical Line security bars as well. Saul's maralago manshion had these too i noticed. Lines similiar to the ones at El Camino restaurant where Kim horked down on soapapia's sitting at the table with jimmy when the vertical line bars framed them like they were behind bars in a jail cell. At that point of the season, everyone was still obsessed with figuring out where Kim is in BB, so I thought this was symbolism that Kim would be locked up. But, Jimmy was framed by those lines too.

Live by the sword, die by the sword. The criminal lawyer will himself go to jail in the end. And maybe Kim comes to visit and they re-enact that scene from el camino diner sitting across from each other at a table behind bars. That would be a satisfactory melter to go out on imo. Just the call back symbolism of it. Either way, Saul goes to jail. SO raise a clinched fist in the air and think of this when the series ends two weeks from last night on a shot of Saul behind the vertical Lines of the bars on his jail cell in full color in a bright orange jumpsuit sitting where his life's trajectory has been leeading him since day 1. Fade to black. Roll credits

I think almost everyone is predicting Saul goes to jail now. I'm just wondering if the writers are steering us in this direction as a fake-out move. If Saul disappears again I think the writers would have to have Saul redeem himself. Another theory I saw is that Saul redeems himself by saving the cancer guy. El Camino had a great ending. I hope Saul does to. EDIT: my wife watched episode 11. She read some spoiler somewhere. I forgot she heard the spoiler and asked her how she thought it would end and she just kind of got a straight face. It kind of tells me that the ending they are leading us towards with the Marion peeping isn't what we think it will be. I think there could also be more to the phone conversation that appeared to be with Kim than the writers are letting on.

Save him from what though? The guy having cancer, i believe, is mostly about tying the story back full circle (of which there were literal circles everywhere in the background of this one) to Walter White who also had cancer. To make us think about Saul’s experience and journey to where he is now because of him. Walt getting cancer is the single thing, the flash point, that sent the entire series into motion and put him on the path to ultimate ruin and destruction. Walt was a piece of shite, so, yes, even bad guys can have a sob story like Saul tells Buddy and Jeffy. Is what happens in cancer fellows house about to be another flash point for Saul? Sure seems like thats what they’re building here

My theory is that the practical component to the fellow having cancer is that we were shown he sets a timer for taking his pills. I believe when Saul is in that house, the moment of high suspense and drama will occur when cancer fellow’s pill timer alarm starts beeping like it did in the bar. BEEP BEEP BEEP and will wake him up to take a round of cancer pills while Saul, a walking talking cancer metaphor, is still in the house.

What happens next? Who knows. I kind of feel like Jeffy will be the one to get arrested somehow though. And this will be what sparks Marion to use her oh so convenient new laptop/internet gift to good use figuring out that Gene is really a criminal fugitive wanted by the feds. Leading to the dramatic takedown of Saul on the run by the feds in the finale.

Another thing i thought about though is something that Gene says during his tantrum about buddy not completing the job because of the cancer. Gene starts ranting about something like “Do you know how many of these shlubs i had to go through to find the perfect mark? A mark with no family that will be dead in a few weeks?” So does Gene actually have a completely different “identity theft” scheme planned for this guy? Instead of just selling his info. Is that why he’s so desperate to take stupid risks to pull this one off? don’t know. When I rewatched the episode this really jumped out at me though. That, and all the circles.

It just seems too predictable at this point; Jeff gets arrested; Marion figures out Gene's identify; gives Gene up. I'm saying 90% chance this is what happens but I think there is another spin; maybe relating back to the phone calls with Kim and Francesca. We already know he removed the disappearer from the equation; plus that actor is dead. Maybe Saul has one final trick up this sleeve that will fail badly and hurt everyone around him.
