I can tell just by the way you type, you are an expert on The Cures's discography.
Tell me, do you think 17 Seconds is overrated because unsettling lyrics with spare minimalistic melodies were particularly charming to the underground music critics of London in the late 70's who controlled the dialogue, or can the album stand on it's own merit for being ahead of it's time with a sonic direction driven by its drum sound as thousands of bands do today, 34 years later?

When you clumsily busted a four-roper onto your T-Shirt in the dark, were you thinking of David Lee Roth in his tight pants and come-get-me stare?

Yeah but I had to make sure I had it all wiped off before I got home, in case Daddy saw it.

Chef.. You clearly have similar musical tastes as I do.
I was into Rush in the 70s and early 80s... When I went to college, my musical tastes changed to a degree and I fricking hated rush. In the last 10 years, I kinda let them back in...
BTW... Husker Du was one of the best live shows of the 80s...

All high schools in the 80s and 90s came equipped with the standard-issue pale loser kid......with a closet full of The Cure and bauhaus black t-shirts .........and two cheeks full of deep acne.......
Genius marketing by the fruit in deeprig's avatar.
It's Friday, I'm in love! Weeeeeeeeeeeee!........

It may be blasphemy but I never was a huge fan of the Cures older older stuff. It was interesting to me though how they went from a pretty simplistic sound to music in the mid/late 80's that was so complex it was a religious experience.

Back in my time the Cure was essential if you wanted to tap any of that Sandy Springs or Roswell tail.
Rush was more Tucker and Stone Mountain....
