It would appear so, unless there are two places called "Kathleen's Catch" that close to each other, which I imagine would have lead to some kind of legal battles by now.

Have you watched The Burbs yet?

No I keep forgetting. I have very limited TV time nowadays and usually watch a show instead of strapping in for a movie, btu you've brought this back to the forefront for me. I'll try to soon. It better be good with as much as you've hyped it

It's not so much that I've hyped it, I just can't beleive you've never seen it. I said if Raising Arizona is a 9, this would be a 7.5, if that's what you consider hype. Now, the movie board has certainly hyped it.

It's mostly kid-safe too, there's some language but it's mild.
It's my kid's second favorite movie behind UHF.
You've seen UHF haven't you?

I have found it rare to find fresh shrimp in Atlanta. I used to be able to get good shrimp at 6 feet under, but I haven't been there is a while. I grew up in Savannah so I'm spoiled. People in Savannah used to tell me the best shrimp was in St. Mary's GA. There's something about shrimp where if you freeze it at all; it loses the flavor. I was just in Barcelona, Spain and I didn't think the shrimp was that there; nowhere near as good as coastal GA.

6 feet under,
I assure you they aren’t getting fresh shrimp in from the gulf.

You seem to have a lot of knowledge but no suggestions.

I have no idea what part of town you’re in, but DeKalb Farmer’s Market is where I would go.

I've heard great things about this place over the years, it's somewhat close to me. Are there different vendors like a real farmer's market or is it just like a big superstore with 1 seafood counter?
Posted on 5/21/25 at 5:32 pm to deeprig9
The latter, but it’s way, WAY more than a counter. The place is huge already, and will actually be the largest independent grocery store in the entire US once they complete their planned expansion. It’s quite the experience if you’ve never been.

They have fresh Gulf/Atlantic shrimp?
Posted on 5/21/25 at 7:06 pm to deeprig9
Indeed they do. That was kind of the point of recommending them.

How do you know they aren't foreign and relabeled?

I love the DeKalb Farmers Market. Not sure if you're familiar with Harry's, but I recall saying both were started by the same family. Huge market with a huge seafood area. Tons of veggies, baked goods, and meats, and a lot of imported foods. They also carry meat from Patak, which if you haven't been, is a really good Bohemian butcher shop in Acworth.
DeKalb Farmers Market is usually absurdly packed full of people, but I think that's part of the fun. They have a ton of cashiers, so even as busy as it is, you don't have to wait a long time to check out. I'd go at least once for the experience alone.
I also recommend the Cajun Butcher Shop in Marietta. They have some really good stuff... but the bill adds up quick.

the DeKalb Farmers Market.
Shopped there often when I lived in Atlanta area. I remember when it burned. Insurance covered about half of replacement cost and regulars contributed money to get it reopened.
There used to be a hippie-run market on North Decatur Road near there that sold fresh food and vitamins. I would go there and get fresh apple juice made while you wait. They had a big juicer and bought apples by the barrel. I would buy a gallon at a time. Apples came from North Georgia up near Blue Ridge.
