Auburn is a much better town than Clempson. Clempson has the lake, but that's it.

Clempson academics are actually pretty decent, but still behind UGA. They just have different specialties

I don't see what the issue is then. The kid had some mental issues that needed to be cleared up and he's now on a go

I guess I worry that once the stress and pressures of attending classes and playing football hit he could slip into some bad habits. Hopefully we give him a "caretaker" to help him and ensure he gets to class and tutors to help him with his studies.

Spending time with Terrance Edwards could be just what he needs to become focused, though.

The way Clemson reveres Dabo is very disturbing.

Not sure why. No different than Alabama with Bryant and Saban, Penn State with Paterno and us if Kirby gets us over the hump with a championship. Clemson has been a good football school, but lacking titles just like us. Think if we start to make the playoffs every year and win 2-3 of them. How will we be viewing Kirby?

Mama will be an hour away - sounds like she will be very much involved in keeping him straight. I bet staff will also keep a close eye.

There will be a student assistant assigned to him I bet.

Hopefully. The big rumor is that he never went to class. However, on the plus side is he will be close to mama and home making homesickness a distant memory. I just hope it all works out. I feel like it will.

If you think this then you have no idea what the post is about. Clemson fans are weird about Dabo. Only comparison you made that holds a little water is Bama/ Bear....but that didn't really kick in until after Bear's death.

If Kirby gets us over the hump UGA fans will not go full Clemson/ Dabo. Its just not in our DNA.

Agree.

They are weird about Dabo and even were before they reached the promised land.

Bama fans aren't like that about Saban.

LSU fans werent' like that about Les, nor are they now about Orgeron.

Florida fans weren't like that with Spurrier or Meyer.

I can't see us being like that with Kirby either when he wins one.

Well, he had online classes and those are easy to blow off and not pay attention to. If he's physically going to class he should be fine.

I honestly don't come into contact with Clemson fans. how are they weird about Dabo? In what way?

But Dabo is in a completely different sphere than Miles or Orgeron. Miles and Orgeron won one championship and were, for the most part one hit wonders. Miles got close once or twice.

Dabo, on the other hand has made the playoffs 6 straight years. Not even Saban can make that claim. Yes, I get it that Clemson is in a far easier position to get there, but if we won the East 6 straight years we would not discount it because we are in the East and the West is tougher.

Hey...I am just trying to look at it from their perspective and understand. Clemson, historically is not a major football power. now they have made 6 straight playoffs. That's impressive no matter who you are.

Maybe. but he blew them off when he was supposed to go in person. Hopefully he learned his lesson. His feet was held to the fire and he came through. Hopefully the lesson was well learned and he carries the lesson with him.

Trust me. I get it. My freshman year I blew off a lot of classes. I would be playing foosball and decide I wanted to keep playing. I get what he did. Hopefully he understands that he has to go this time. (That's assuming the rumors are even true)

I guess you just have to experience it for yourself, if it's not already evident to you.

Well, like I said I don't come into contact with them. I had a friend who was a big Clemson fan, but I haven't seen him in 40+ years. It's probably a good thing that I don't run into them much from what I am hearing.

I thought he was virtual the entire semester? If he wasn’t going and no one checked on him then O is a bigger idiot than I thought.

Clemson fans are just plain weird period. A bunch of orange overall wearing toothless red necks. They are a lot like UT fans with even less class if you can imagine such a thing.

I was just going by what a lot of the LSU fans have been saying....which in retrospect was probably a mistake. They are not the most reliable of sources for information.

The Paterno/Dabo comparisons are the closest. We know Dabo fricked his Mom. He definitely has that Youth Group leader vibe. I can’t sit here and tell you if it is gonna be little boys or girls, but it is inevitable.
