He’d never admit it but probably deep down. His stats haven’t changed much even.

In an interview after the game last night, Kirby referred to McConkey as “one of the best players on the team.” Just crazy to think that one of the best players on the #1 team in the country would be suiting up for the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Water Mocassins if Kirby hadnt scooped him up.
Stet and McConkey are both hollywood style stories, but none of it happens without Kirby Smart. We got so damn lucky getting Kirby. What amazing times we’re in right now

That Kent State game was REALLY rough for Ladd. But, if you listen to Kirby in all the press conferences, he always reiterates "We need Ladd if we want to get to where we want to go.". There's a reason this under-recruited guy is balling out - they must see him turning heads in practice all the time.

Pretty sure it was in the Kent State game thread when he was having the yips - a few folks wanted him benched. Can't remember the names. Probably GriffinDawg.

I was loud about benching his arse for all of those drops

On the long td run, #3 from Mississippi St almost caught caught him from behind. That cb is a 10.75 100 meters guy, a track star. McConkey got some burners or else that guy would have caught him before he crossed the goal line.
