My dad turned 70 this fall and I was lucky enough to go to the ND game, Ga-Fla, the SECCG, and the Rose Bowl Game with him. He didn’t go to the 1981 Sugar Bowl and has a trial that starts Monday so he can’t go Monday night so we have to go without him. Hopefully we will get another chance for him to attend one.

My Mom would have loved this. She'd watch every game and could actually talk football. I don't know how many years she watched our beloved Dawgs, but it was for as long as I can remember. Dad always told the story of their nearly-annual trip to Gatlinburg - one year they went on the GA-TN weekend and UGA beat them, pretty bad. Mom, as she always did win or lose, was in her UGA gear. Seems as if a salty TN fan of the female sort (wont say lady...) talked shite. Dad laughed and laughed saying how mom wouldn't back down and gave her hell.

How I wish she could see this.

January 6th 2012 my dad left is unexpectedly.

He was from Bama and liked them. But he supported and cheered for the teams his sons followed too (Bama, FSU, and UGA). One day he would have ona FSU shirt, the next a Georgia one.

We watched many games together and I’d give anything for us to watch just one more with me and my son now. But he is upstairs right now with his brothers (who were big Bama fans) pulling for them Dawgs!

Enjoy your loved ones while you can.
