Scoring Offense:
Ok - 44.9 (4th nationally)
GA - 34.9 (23rd)

Scoring Defense
Ok - 25.0 (52nd)
GA - 13.2 (3rd)

3rd Down Conversions (Offense)
Ok - 43.06% (39th)
GA - 47.27% (3rd)

3rd Down Defense
Ok - 38.67% (64th)
GA - 33.15% (15th)

Total Defense
Ok - 384.8 (57th)
GA - 270.9 (4th)

Turnover margin is dead even. Significantly better than they are in pass defense (2nd vs. 87th)

If we can run the ball then we wear them down in the 3rd and 4th and win

I guess stats have some relevance, but unless two teams play the exact same schedule or at least in the same conference, they are very subjective.

To be fair, the point differential here is

OU - 19.9 (7)
UGA - 21.7 (5)

That's pretty dang close.

OU is terrible at punt coverage (granted on only 7 punt returns all year) allowing 15 yards a return. KO coverage isn’t great either. I posted something similar about AU before the SEC championship. This could be the difference making part of the game

This is true on both accounts. However, we've only allowed 19 KO returns this year out of 99 KOs. I'd also bet several of those returns happened on a windy day at KU. UGA won't get many chances to have a big return.

When Hardman takes one to the house, I will remember. Hardman does not need many chances...just one!
