While history may not repeat exactly, it does run in cycles, and the smart folks pay attention. The dumb folks get lost in the smallest windows and the youngest generation right now is the most uninformed because they have no past to compare it to.
Not sure how old you are, but having a singular myopic view is the surest way to miss the signs for where the future is going. The folks that raised me when through the roughest 20 to 40 years in US history and I was smart enough to learn the lessons they taught.

Yes Hamas is a radical group. Does that justify killing innocent women and children, raping POWs, starving civilians and so on? You may argue thats what they had to do to get the Hamas forces. L...how is that going? Is Hamas eliminated? How radicalized do you think the survivors of the genocide will be? Will you blame them if they want to attack Israel in the future?
