I don't think he is saying anything overtly political. War is more than politics it's a human issue and I think that's what he is addressing when he mentions it.

So by telling a super corrupt organization fresh off the worst sexual assault conspiracy in US history to pipe down is intimidation.
The Catholic Church as an organization should have been shut down and removed from the US. Have no issues with Catholics just their church which is sleazy as frick. No other organization would have survived that if you look at what they did and not know they were the church you would say, shut them down.
As it is the country is littered with shuttered Catholic churches.

So, if they were there, The Pope sent them.....further...It’s political because the pope is no longer just preaching morals in general. He is weighing in on a live fight over what a government should do right now.
Once he moves from “peace is good” to “this war, this policy, this administration is wrong,” he is stepping into politics, because he is trying to shape public policy and pressure leaders in real time.
