Seems to be the case

I just got off the phone with JC Shurburtt. He has confirmed that Auburn interprets the contract as he can not leave for another job - head coaching or otherwise - before December 6 without having to pay the $1 million buyout. We are told the buyout is the reason for the delay. Everyone on South Carolina's end continues to stay quiet about what's happening right now, so it makes sense.

Makes sense why Pruitt was saying he won't know till early this week. I hope he stays.

I'd say Muschamp is the new USCe coach.

Meaning Muschamp will not be the DC. The media was saying Kirby wanted Muschamp to run the D but it looks like he will be the head man at USCe now. Unless they offer it to the USF coach they interviewed?? Desperation is an ugly thing..

I cannot believe South Carolina has gotten desperate enough to hire Will Muschamp. No Pharoah, no running back, no defense, and a nut job sloppy seconds for a head coach.

Im with most on here in that I want Pruitt retained but ive come to the conclusion Kirby wanted a good friend to help him out since Muschamp knows some pitfalls to avoid as a first-time HC.

Our drawing board is Muschamp and then Pruitt. That's why I was confused.

I read that the $1M buyout was after Dec 6th only if AU made it to ATL.

Still, I want Muschamp at USC. One, it's hilarious. Two, it gives me hope they retain Pruitt. If they hire Muschamp and we don't retain Pruitt thennnnn I will be disappointed.

South Carolina did not offer Rich Rodriguez its head coaching job. All signs continue to point toward Will Muschamp.

I'm telling you, it's bad in Columbia. They will have a worse roster than Vandy next year.

Muschamp is begging for it.

Seriously..here's what probably happened...Rodriguez probably went on the interview, told his AD they offered it to him hoping AZ would give him more $$, then when they didn't he says, "Im staying!". A 247 USCe guy says they've gone after Muschamp the whole time and never offered Rodriguez the job. What a soap opera..

At what point does Muschamp look around and notice that every other individual has turned it down? He better get some zeroes added to that offer, or drop out himself

Good. I think I'm in the minority but I don't want muschamp anywhere near a coaching position in Athens. The dude is a clown.

Clown or not you can't deny his abilities as a DC. Rather have Pruitt but he'd be a close 2nd and we'd be fools if he wanted to come & Pruitt was out.

we seem to disagree at a fundamental level about things lol. He's a pretty good DC, I'll give you that. But his worth ends there and his time at auburn is the exact example of why he shouldn't be at Georgia.
