Kirby 59-5 in Sanford

Had to get AI help because I mix up the Richt and early Kirby years.

Under Kirby Smart, the Georgia Bulldogs have a 59–5 (.922) record at Sanford Stadium. 

All five home losses under Smart came in tight, one-possession games:

1. Tennessee 34, Georgia 31 (October 1, 2016)
Georgia took the lead on a 47-yard touchdown pass from Jacob Eason to Riley Ridley with just 10 seconds remaining, but Tennessee answered on the final play when Joshua Dobbs completed a 43-yard Hail Mary pass to Jauan Jennings in the end zone.

2. Vanderbilt 17, Georgia 16 (October 15, 2016)
On Georgia's homecoming, the Commodores held on after linebacker Zach Cunningham stopped Isaiah McKenzie on a 4th-and-1 toss play with just over a minute left.

3. Georgia Tech 28, Georgia 27 (November 26, 2016)
Georgia held a 13-point lead in the fourth quarter, but the Yellow Jackets rallied with two late touchdowns, capped by a 6-yard touchdown run from Qua Searcy with 30 seconds left.

4. South Carolina 20, Georgia 17 (2OT) (October 12, 2019)
The third-ranked Bulldogs were upset after turning the ball over four times—including three interceptions by Gamecocks defensive back Israel Mukuamu—before a missed 42-yard field goal in the second overtime sealed the loss.

5. Alabama 24, Georgia 21 (September 27, 2025)
Alabama jumped to an early two-score lead behind quarterback Ty Simpson and held off a late Georgia rally. The loss snapped Georgia's school-record 33-game home winning streak, which had stood since October 2019.
