What is the deal with him? Mathis looked like a deer in the headlights and was scared after taking a lick from Poole at Arkansas. We're not winning $hit with Bennett either. What's the solution or are we gonna waste the best defense we've had in a while?

I was thinking of a theory last night. Kirby could be holding out JT for the Florida game. It could completely mess with Florida's game plan. He has had plenty of in-game experience so it's not like he would be clueless out there.

It's a long shot, but I think it's plausible.

No. You are not going to hold out a QB then throw him into the biggest game of the year with no experience running the offense in a real game.

Could Daniels win the job and play Saturday? Maybe. But Kirby is not going to throw him out there with not game experience on a new team running a new offense just to mess with some teams plans.

This is what Tre Mckitty said regarding JT Daniels last week. Seems like he’s still working through his injury:

With Daniels, tight end Tre' McKitty gave a more detailed answer on where things stand with the transfer quarterback.

"He's coming along great," McKitty said. "He's my locker buddy so we get to talk a lot. He's looking to get back and help the team any way he can.

"I'll go into meetings with him just to watch the film on the upcoming opponent. It's great to have him around the team, working back through his injury. Hope to have him out there soon."

All this “we’re keeping it vanilla and uninspired to not show any cards to Florida” or the idea that we have some secret weapon that were waiting on pulling out has to stop. These fantasies happen every year, and every year we do the same thing. Our biggest asset, defense, has been devastated by injuries, and that’s the reality. If Daniels was ready to play and good enough, I think we would have seen him yesterday. If Mathis was going to play another down for UGA, we would have seen him too.

We most likely lose to UF. That’s the reality of it as of now. LeCounte was just a cherry on top of the shite.

We sound like LSU fans who always insisted that Les Miles had a secret playbook ready to use against Alabama every year.

I think we keep it vanilla on purpose but to a detriment.

We have no secret playbook.

I agree, we do not have a secret playbook nor are we holding out plays just so we can use them on someone later. We're holding on by a thread on offense. If we can sustain drives and keep our D somewhat fresh, then we have a chance. Something has to give, though.
