Two good (not great) games against Bama are his entire legacy. That’s it. Defense and running game carried him besides that

JAke's girlfriend, or side piece, might be pregnant, because his mind is absolutely not in the games the last couple months. He's unusually rattled and emotional.

if he starts next year, and he probably will, he is guaranteed to pass Peytom Manning for number 5 (unless he gets injured)

in fact, if he starts every game next year, it is probable that he winds up 2nd on the list, 3rd for sure

but he sucks - right?

Facts that stats don’t tell the whole story. Ron Dayne is 2nd leading NCAA rusher. Fromm can have stats and not be great.

I’ve been saying for a while that he’s mindfricked and it’s probably a woman.

Bitch.

It’s interesting how having a good running game and reliable receivers makes a pocket passing Qb look good but having neither consistently makes one look bad.

I’ve also wondered about this.

How you can't see the mediocrity of Jake Fromm is astounding. We have multiple 5 star receivers, offensive linemen, and running backs. What more does Fromm need?

Game managers need perfect everything to look good.

I'm a person who likes to look at trends in data. We had two seasons where Fromm looked pretty good overall, drawing praise from fans and professional analysts alike. Then we enter into season #3 and everything looks different.

Conventional wisdom would dictate that a film rat and work-a-holic like Fromm would keep getting better and better until he reaches his ceiling, not that he would regress terribly in his junior season, so when there's an unexpected blip in the data, my initial thought is not to simply assume Fromm just started to suck but instead I want to look at all the possible factors that may contribute to the root cause.

In this case, the first place to look is what big changes there were, if any, between last season and this one or the previous two seasons and this one. Right off the bat we have two big factors at play: coaching changes and a huge turnover in our wide receiver group, including nearly all of our experienced upperclassmen, leaving us with inexperienced guys for Fromm to throw to. Even before Holloman's departure, the preseason talk was about how we would do on offense with our receivers almost all gone from the previous season. It was a known concern shared by many, and yet when problems in the passing game actually manifested themselves, this concern was suddenly forgotten and the blame shifted to the QB.

It's surprising to me that the biggest changes were known and understood as being potential detriments to our offense before the season began yet are ignored almost entirely when what was predicted (struggles with our offense) actually happened.

Ratings don't matter on the field. Production does. When those 5 stars give up sacks, don't run proper routes, don't make catches consistently, don't get separation or leverage consistently, or can't pick up yards consistently when given the ball, it doesn't matter what their ratings are. Especially in our receiver group, we've got a lot of young guys that could benefit from some older players guiding them in their position group. Cager--a transfer from Miami--was that guy, but he's missed a substantial amount of time due to injury. Being able to play young players is normally a luxury because it means they are good enough to earn starting spots or good playing time. In the case of our receivers, it has been done out of necessity. It should pay off in the next few seasons, but this season was basically an offensive rebuilding year.
