You think that will make fans happy? "Hey fans we just fired the 2nd most successful coach in school history and replaced him with someone who has never been a HC." We are too big of a program to hire an Asst. coach anyway.
Plenty of fans want mark richt fired. This topic is discussed practically every year.

What does this garbage even mean? Why don't you like Richt? Why don't we start there?
it means uga would want someone with southern values. Being a church-going Christian is a must.
Why do I hate mark richt? I don't hate him. Do you mean why don't I think he's a good football coach? Well, he cries now after winning big games.

Not any with any sense. Their reasons are trivial.

By idiotic fans who don't even know anything about football.

Yes, why is he not a good coach?
Wtf are you talking about? That happened once after the loss to LSU. Let's not act like it's a weekly thing.

So a Georgia alum who happens to be one of the best defensive coordinators wouldn't be interviewed? It wasn't my endorsement. I'm just using common sense.
The point is, that you and too many other dumb fans, are hoping Richt leaves or gets fired. Yet you want asst coaches to be hired....or you are dreaming of a HC coming here from a top program. It's nonsense and gets old. I have RA'd this thread for anchor

funny. I think the same thing about fans who like mark.

The point was that wins against ranked opponents are so rare now that they evoke huge emotional cry fests.

I have not shared my opinion about who UGA should hire.

Huh?Does Bama have a coach with "southern values"?How bout
LSU?UT?Arkansas?
Is Pete Carroll a "church going Christain"? If not, does
that mean UGA would eliminate him from being a HC
candidate?

I don't really feel like it. Well grantham and Martinez are two reasons.

well it's 5 actually. And we're pushing 10 years where we have actually won an SEC title.

Mack brown?
A burned out retread hire?
He has just as many conference titles and conference title appearances as Richt and has obviously been a HC much longer.

So because he hasn't hired an elite DC yet that's grounds for firing? Pretty weak.

6 SEC east titles.
02, 03, 05, 07, 11, 12.

Like I said, If you can find someone better then maybe I'd be for it. Everyone is frustrated but the last thing we need to do is fire Mark Richt. We now have an elite DC in charge. That will help a lot.

Ok? and?
a typical redneck fan reaction after a tough loss.

no. I understand that as a head coach, he has very few responsibilities. But he is responsible for surrounding himself with competent play callers. If he has an ineffective coordinator on his staff, the most logical thing for him to do would be to replace the ineffective coordinator (not "retain" him).

It was LSU - Ten in 07.

Ah shite, shite we're making progress. Again, I don't really like the "who should we replace him with?" argument. To me, if someone is not doing their job effectively, then a change should probably be made. And often, fresh starts can be healthy for both parties involved... a la Andy Reid and the Philadelphia Eagles.

I don't think Richt has become stale.
