I'm tired of it. Sick of it really. I'm not talking about our team, players or coaches. I'm talking about our fans. If you want to complain about the way we're playing fine. Murray throwing interceptions? Fine. D can't tackle? Fine. But if you're going to cry and complain about things then you have an obligation to show up to the next game, against a top 10 team and cheer until your lungs hurt. Clemson had an electric atmosphere. Quite possibly one of the best I've ever been to. South Carolina last year same thing. The only time in the past 10 ten years Sanford Stadium has been like either of those games was the first Blackout Game and that wasn't until we came out in black jerseys or they started to play Soulja Boy over the loud speakers. We shouldn't have to have our Coach or players asking/pleading for the fans to show up in a big way. Our fans can make fun of South Carolina's mascot/introduction whatever or Clemson's run down the hill but frankly when it comes to creating the best possible atmosphere for a college game, one that would give our team an advantage, our fans fall short …. Luckily there is always the next game to change that.

He's absolutely right. It starts with the students. There's a reason they are giving freshmen priority and took 2k tickets away from them this year. We sucked when I was there and it was extremely embarrassing.

Same here. For those that went to the game, Clemson routinely gets up and makes it loud.

Now I think their stadium crew does a better job in keeping the fans engaged and "crunk" which McGarity said will be starting next year for UGA. But I don't need Soulja Boy to get me loud and nobody else should either.

What does he mean? Is there a little red button somewhere we don't know about and why are we waiting til "next year" to push it, if so?

Say what you will about South Carolina, but one thing I remember from years ago is that even when they were winning 1-5 ballgames a year, they were STILL packin' it out, students included. That's true dedication and the kinda thing you would think that UGA fans would show as well given our tradition.

And yet.....

There's a link for a reason jackass

quote:

Here’s the deal with the music: Per ACC rules, Clemson was allowed to play music before snaps – actually, the rule is until the center gets over the ball. But that’s not legal in the SEC yet. Greg McGarity told me that it will be starting in 2014, but a rule legalizing it won’t take effect this year. So you will not hear “canned music” between plays. The band can play, however.

Apparently Murray's mom agrees

quote:

Guess the author of this Facebook post Tuesday: “Woke up feisty and looking forward to traveling to Athens on Sat. If you know fans who act more like they’re at a tennis match or watching a round of golf please buy their ticket and give it to someone on Adderall who’s willing not to take it on Sat. If you don’t have the stamina to stand on your feet & yell for several hours please give your ticket to someone who can. If you let down after the 1st sign of adversity, please sell your ticket. I’m tired of other fans out yelling and out lasting us. We MUST be a factor Saturday! That is all.” Aaron Murray’s mother Lauren wrote that post. Dawg fans, you have been challenged.

Well I challenge Lauren to Aaron for wearing skinny jeans and for not being able to win the big games.

So, good question....

quote:

Do you think we will see Gurley and Marshall in the same backfield without a fullback like Auburn did with Cadillac and Ronnie Brown?

....bad answer....

quote:

Richt has said that while they have a package with Gurley and Marshall together, he’s pretty reluctant to use it. “There’s only football,” Richt pointed out on his radio show the other day, and whoever isn’t getting it has to block. So they’d rather have a better blocker in there, as Hicks has shown himself to be, than just have one of the tailbacks as a decoy.

And from the comments...

quote:

LibertyAgain
Having Gurley and Marshall in the backfield doesn't necessarily mean one has to block for the other. Isn't part of the game deception? Wouldn't they create a great decoy situation for each other?

Couldn't agree more. When we have Gurley or Marshall in the backfield with a FB, we are telling the defense who's going to get the ball. You might as well just use a spotlight to shine on Gurley or Marshall. If you put them both in at the same time, you may have half the defense going one way while the ball is going the other. I think we are totally missing the boat on this opportunity.

I'd love to see them in the Wishbone with Hicks at fullback. I know the Wishbone is dead and gone and three yards and a cloud of dust is a thing of the past but it's fun to think about.

I agree. Not sure about the wishbone but 2 RB set would be refreshing

I've seen him on campus and downtown a good bit and I've never seen him wear skinny jeans.
