Say it again........ Say that the eisenhower tree hasn't been referred to as "Ike's Tree" for decades.
I don't have to call you names. You are embarrassing yourself on your own. Too funny.
ALso, I will guarantee you that the tourists at the practice rounds this year that will crowd around where Ike's Tree used to be.......... will all be from atlanta or other yankee places..........and they will all refer to it as "The Eisenhower Tree".

I'm in my 30s. It was way before my time but urban legend has it Terry was a bouncer at the Discoteque. How long has that place been open?

All the BS aside we had a ridiculous storm in the Augusta area this week. The National has a ton of pine trees along with ornamental trees like Dogwoods and Magnolias all over the place. Pine trees were breaking like tooth picks Wednesday night. I lost several large limbs in my back yard.
The pic of that tree is about par for the course here in Augusta. My guess is there are several azalea beds backing up to Augusta Country Club starting on #12 that were probably destroyed by falling pine limbs. They can be replaced without anyone knowing. That place was probably a disaster Thursday. They'll have it perfect again in a month.

I am surprised the illuminati let the ice storm affect Augusta National.

Wow. Thanks for the breaking news and inside scoop.

Also, why haven't you admitted that you were wrong about the name "Ike's Tree"?

Could be they are sending a message to certain illuminati members. Sometimes they have internal squabbles.
Maybe, one of them REALLY wanted to get his point across.....

1. Because I'm not wrong. You're doing some selective Internet searching then link pasting. It's the Eisenhower Tree over Ike's tree 10 to 1 not to mention I'll go with what the Augusta National calls it over some bozo on the Internet. This argument is stupid it's arguing for the sake of it.
2. I've seen that "white kids in TN" thread and I'm not interesting in getting involved in that kind of Internet craziness you bring to the table. You run with some weird people
Look I said I didn't want to sound like a prick. Move on

Talked to pops he's sad to see it go!!! He played there a couple times said he shanked one into that tree!! Said those were the good old days when blades were what separated the men from the boys and that cavity backs let chumps look good!!!

This is beyond ignorant.
This is like saying that nobody refers to the Georgia Bulldogs as "The Dawgs" etc.
Actually. NO. This is one-hundred times worse than that!
And here is what the Augusta National has to say about it on their own damn website...........
quote:
It's known as the Eisenhower Tree. Ike's Tree. Perhaps the most famous tree in golf.
quote:
Ike's Tree today is as big a nuisance to the field as a gnat is to a 747....

Jesus man.....ANybody who plays the game and half-way follows the sport has heard the name "Ike's Tree". This is not my opinion. THis is reality.
I think what happened here is that you are from the Augusta area, and were looking for a chance to flex and to show off some "local" knowledge in this thread................but you fricked up and stuck your foot in your mouth.
Be a man. And own it.
I realize that this argument might appear ridiculous to those that don't follow golf, but there ACTUALLY IS NO ARGUMENT HERE!!! Unbelievable.

Grandfather was a regular at the tournament for about 30 years or so (he stopped going in the 00's - got fed up with the new crowds of yahoos). Whenever referencing either the tree or the pond, he would say "Ike's". My great uncle (his brother) says the same.
