He has risen
Stay safe in the weather today and have a wonderful Easter.

I know I am a relatively “new Georgian” and proud of my roots and family In Louisiana
But I cannot think of a better place to be then right here in the Pines of Northeast Georgia. I found my “Home”

Thanks man! I attend church and we have been having Sunday School online the last 3 weeks. We had 32 "attend" this morning. It was great!

Where in Louisiana are you from? I was born in Baton Rouge and went back for 3 1/2 years as an adult, but I really consider myself Georgian. The longer you live here the more you will feel at home and grow to love it.

The wife and I bought a lot just outside of Hiawassee, Ga. in Hayesville, NC in the mountains overlooking lake Chatuge. We will start building there in about 4 years and retire there once the house is built.

Happy Easter to you and all the Dawgs here and to all the families. We took a ride on the lake this morning on the pontoon boat and I read some Bible verses. Getting ready for a monsoon here this afternoon. We may get 3-5" of rain today and tonight.

I'm just across the border from Weiss Lake.

It's about 25 minutes from my house in Floyd County.

I know. You may not remember, but we've talked a bit awhile back. I lived in Rome for a while. Played football up there in high school back when Nick Hyder was coaching up there....pre-Valdosta high School days. That was when Rome High School was East Rome and West Rome.

As typical with most people from Louisiana I grew up catholic so attended St Jean Vianney
I went to high school at Dunham School formerly known as Trafton Academy when I attended there so Parkview was a Rival
But lots of friends went to school or church there

Weiss Lake is very nice. Good bream and crappie fishing, and small mouth bass. My cousin has had a place there since 1975.
Lake Guntersville is a federal navigable waterway, so TVA keeps it at full level year round. One day I'm going to buy a 42 ft cruiser and go from here to Maine. The Tennessee River flows into the Mississippi and down to the Gulf. I figure that journey will take me about a year with all the stops I want to make along the way. I may start in the late fall and winter in the Florida Keys.
