Why are they playing him off a poor farm kid when he obviously isn't?

Agree with that, but the information is good and thorough. Journalist Trying too hard.

Bennett has zero fear as far as throwing into coverage. Couldn't decide if it was his or the coaches philosophy to just throw it and see what happens. Their receivers at the time seemed to be trained and really good at fighting for the ball. Our philosophy on defense against him was to don't let him run around and try to bate him into throwing some picks. Nothing earth shattering in baiting a QB but it was really important to keep him in the pocket. He's actually pretty damn fast and throws on the run pretty good too. If he ever got to running around and slinging the ball we were in for a long night.

Read again. The article said that the Stetson was descended from poor farmers whose opportunities for education were due to football.

The author needs to learn that it is "dirt poor" farm boys and not poor dirt farm boys.

Vi Bennett used the term "poor dirt farm boys" in her tweet. Sentell just mirrored that usage.
