I'd love a media member to "out" bad sources.

Legitimate media is always permitted to say "sources say...." and get away with it.

Just once, I'd love the media member to say, "Joe blow gave me that information which I reported on this day".
And like that... the sphincters on all of the trash sources would tighten up.
And news would move in the slightest direction towards being real news again.
Joe Blow either defends his position or gets blackballed/punished by social media.

Putting a kid on blast on ESPN = private letter to kid retracting

The letter isn't bad.
But seriously. Bad journalism needs an equally bad form of justice. Out the source.

That's one of the main things you can't do, unfortunately. Sources on sensitive or investigative stories almost always give info under the condition of anonymity. Break that trust, and you'll never get a source to speak to you again.

I will gladly agree to disagree.

News is supposed to be correct.
I'd gladly scare away an unreliable source.

What do you think Jalen Carter's opinion of the source is? I'd give Jalen 5 minutes with a baseball bat with a dark room and no consequences with that source. #88 would probably take the high road. But that tells you all you need to know about my opinion on anonymous sources who are incorrect.

No news is better than that trash.

RedPants said he should write a letter to Jalen, I was stating that he did.

I don’t care about it either way, just stating what happened

I got that.

I'm just saying that a cable segment watched by millions that goes viral is a false equivalent to a private letter of apology.

The letter isn't a bad thing.
But it does not make the espn segment OK.
