When we beat Bama by three TDs, will you admit this topic is dumb and you don't need to learn how to play from behind if you just blow everyone out?
I guess we see all the cocky UGA fans who thinks we will just roll through everyone since we have done it so far with a weak arse schedule. Then you got the other side, who knows that we haven't faced an elite team that can stop the run, which is why we are asking what will happen if Bama does that.
If you guys think we can have Fromm go 4-7 vs Bama and win, then I think yall are in for a rude awakening.

There's apparently no room for reasonable discussion and realists in this thread.
Apparently UGA is going to win the SECCG, their playoff game, and the NC game by a combined score of 144-17.
This is literally the greatest team in college football history. Haven't you heard? They would demolish 2001 Miami 45-3.

In other words, this team (with a true fresh QB to boot) has very little experience playing when the game isn't going their way.
Most of these kids were on the team last year...they've been punched in the mouth plenty. And they handled it well last year with the exception of Ole Miss. They'll be fine.
I'd also say it's worth thinking about what these guys do/face in practice... at this point, the players and Smart have made no bones about it that our practices are harder than our games. That's all fine to say in week 1, but we are still hearing it in week 10. We throw/catch a much higher ratio in practice and Smart has not indicated any particular concern there... he's explicitly mentioned putting them in "behind the eight ball" type situations previously. So I'm not terribly concerned about it, but it is an interesting footnote to keep in mind if the time arises...
Last year, we were in a ton of close games... some went our way, others didn't... as mentioned, save Ole Miss last season, there weren't any games where we got run out of the building. Given that roughly 80-85% of our offensive and defensive production from 2016 returned this year, I'd say that the majority of this team knows how to handle the adversity from experience, Fromm has been one of the most efficient UGA QBs I can recall in recent history.. in the event that we get down, his quick reads, ability to check into the right play, etc... those are all things you don't expect out of a freshman so I'd anticipate that the leadership surrounding him will help to settle any jitters in that hypothetical. Does that mean we'll definitely win every game? Hell no... but I don't think playing from behind against bad teams is a way to find out whether you can do it. Richt got massacred on these forums and elsewhere for that exact reason... not stepping on the throat of an opponent while we're up to run away with it, allowing them back into the game as well as getting down and having to make epic comebacks against what most would have perceived as inferior rosters.

quote:Miami is the opposite of that this year. Poor first half performances followed by strong second half performances. They look a lot like we did last year only without the talent. If their QB could play well from the start, they would be a great team. Also, losing Walton or whatever his name is hurt.
Miami this year

Absolutely a fan from another school pretending to be a GA fan.

Practically the same for Bama this year. FSU lead them 7-3 in the second quarter for a little bit.
