So you admit that he didn't have the supporting cast to be as successful as we would have liked? Sounds like what I and others have been saying.

Fromm can't put an offense on his back and make things happen when other things aren't going well. We stuffed LSU's run game in the SECCG last year, yet they scored 37 anyways. Why? Because Burrow avoided our pass rush and threw downfield passes that were so accurate that you couldn't hand it to the WR in a better place. Fromm's first pass of the game underthrew a touchdown by 10 yards. That's the difference.

Fromm is not Burrow. I'm glad we've established that.

That's not at issue, though, as no one has claimed Fromm was as good as Burrow. What is at issue is the amount of credit the QBs get for an offense with reliable weapons. Burrow didn't "put [his] offense on his back" against us. It was a combination of his great play, the OL's great play, the RB's great play, the WR's great play, and the great play calling that let them put up so many points. I'm not trying to take away credit from Burrow at all, just trying to demonstrate that football is a team sport and a QB is nothing without those around him doing their jobs.

Fromm could be Burrow and still not have been successful last season.
