I agree he should be punished for what he did, if he did it. Many a man has been convicted on far less evidence. That's not my point. You knew what you were saying when you referred to him as a monkey and it had nothing to do with the crime he committed.

I think what you are seeing around the hoodie is a bandana, not his actual skin tone. The picture in the story rig posted is of better quality.
Good call! I hadn't seen the other angle picture, definitely looks to be a bandana, so skin tone irrelevant.

I agree Fib, I already typed it out in the SECrant version of this thread, but the only evidence at this point (that we know about) was enough to get a warrant, and evidence to get a warrant isn't enough to convict in many cases. This looks to be one of those cases, especially since the Oconee DA is the same as the Clarke DA (due to a weird arrangement between counties) and the Clarke DA is a known softy, so much so that even the Athens liberals hate her for being too soft. She released a public statement that she is too afraid to dine in Watkinsville because she's afraid of being lynched by white supremacists. That's the DA we're dealing with, to give you some perspective.
Justice has not been served yet. I hope like hell the Sheriff has more than circumstantial casings. Or maybe feds can yank this case from the local clowns like they did for that killing of Arbury.
Yeah... I notice my post is getting downvoted, but dgaf. I'm ultimately with you here... my only hope is that the evidence is more than just the connection of shell casings, as that's a pretty flimsy connection. I have no idea whether he did it or didn't, but it's wild to me the number of folks who were so supremely worried that Adam Anderson was getting a raw deal with "guilty until proven innocent" concerns, but a pretty quick rush to judgement about a guy who was not a major contributor in Athens, and obviously has no future contribution value to the team.
Again, if he did it... throw the book at him. Unequivocally. But what has been presented so far, sure seems a far cry from supporting the "WE GOT HIM!" statement from the Sheriff's office social media feed. I don't need to hear/see the evidence personally... just hope that they have the actual meat to support a conviction if they're going to come out that strongly.

Do they have any other surveillance videos other than what was posted by the media. It's odd how he walks in, shoots him, goes to leave, and then comes back again. I'm assuming he shot him the first time he walks in, but I guess he could have done it when he walked back up to the counter. That's a pretty nice gas station. You would think they had parking lot cameras and multiple camera angles in the store with audio.

The hard streets of Oconee County. Thats weak even for want to be gangsta's. Its a yuppie town for Suburbanites. Not a place to get hard.

Monkeys, really? You couldn't come up with something not racist.

How exactly is calling someone a monkey, racist?
When did calling someone a monkey become racist?
When did everything become racist?
Why is everything racist?
So many questions.

... Ok Mr. Internet Edgy guy... either it's your first day on the internet or you're being intentionally obtuse. Yes, the "racist" card is overplayed frequently, but if you can't be honest enough to admit that this term is often used as a derogatory term for POC (specifically AA) this conversation is not worth having.

It harkens back to when black people were considered by many racists to be less than human, undeserving of the same rights and privileges granted to the rest of the human race.

Calling someone a monkey just means they are a fool.
We can't say someone is monkeying around anymore?
I hate this gay Earth.
TIL calling someone an animal is racist.

If your first though is that calling someone a monkey has anything to do with their race, means you're probably racist.

If he just wanted to murder someone he passed many many other similar locations. I have a theory but will keep that to myself.
This should be against the rules. This is more bothersome than the racism, to me. Knowing you are a local and live down the street, and you saying you know something we don't know, is very nanny nanny boo boo. I don't like it one bit, sir.

Because monkey is much more descriptive. Most people immediately have an imagine of monekys doping around causing trouble. Most people dont hear the word money and think, oh like a black person! It's sad people hear the name of an animal and assume it has something to do with race.
Again if the first thing you think of when someone says monkey is a black person, thats a you problem... You're the racist.

It was one… not multiple… Racist? Please… how is it racist? If the suspect was white and compared to a raging bull…. you’d have more sympathy for the bull. FOH…

It may not be *your* intent... but you've been around the internet long enough to know how terms are used... Also... L. O. L. at trying to now pivot from calling someone "a monkey" and then referencing the phrase "monkeying around"... no chance those are every used in entirely different connotations.
