I’d say we are a good team sometimes, but too inconsistent. We have bad losses to bad teams, too.

ESPN has us as the 8 seed in Duke’s region. Ugh. Saving grace is that we’d play in Greenville.

Shock the world baby, shock the world
also I love how we have all convinced ourselves we win the 8/9 game no problem lol

Just looked it up 33% of our wins in the tournament have been against a #1 seed...

So 2 of our 6 wins total, which were before tournament expanded to 64 teams when we made the final four
Not saying we couldn’t pull an upset. If we have our best game shooting, stay out of foul trouble and a team is “off” - see Florida yesterday vs Vandy, we could potentially pull it off. Though, based on what I’ve seen from the top 4 this season, this is highly unlikely.
I mean, look what NC State did a couple years ago. Or VCU or Loyola. It can happen, it’s what makes the tournament special. But if we are talking history - the 8 seed has only beaten the 1 seed 15 times since 1985 when the tournament expanded. That’s under 10% of the time an 8 seed has advanced to the Sweet 16. Higher than one would think, but still crazy unlikely.
Hopefully we get a nice matchup vs our 9 in round 1 and can advance to give ourselves a shot at the 1 seed. Would be exciting to get our 7th ever win in NCAAT history
