For the uninitiated, the Redcoat Band has been playing football the past few years. Traditionally it has been against the band members from the North Avenue Trade School. The last loss was in 2009 (the first game), then the Redcoats went on to win the next 4 years in a row. The NATS could not field a team last year or this year so no game was played.
The game is full contact - no pads (mouth guard).
This year, the Redcoat Band will square off against Georgia State and Georgia Southern. In a thrilling 30-22 victory earlier today at East Athens Community Park, the Redcoats won a in a game that included a UGA safety and a Georgia State 2 point conversion. Photos to come as they appear via social media in the next few days...
Georgia Southern will happen "near the end of April," reportedly.

Our photographers are busy and will get their pictures up when they can. This photo was taken at the end of the game. Yes, the Redcoats custom ordered jerseys (names on the back).
