I hate schedule threads but this is on my mind:

If the SEC is reciprocal for our locked in 24-25 schedules-

Keep:
Auburn
Florida

Rotate:
Texas swapped for AnM
Alabama swapped for LSU
Ole Miss swapped for OK
Ms St swapped for Arky or Mizzou
Kentucky swapped for South Carolina
Tennessee swapped for Vanderbilt.

That would be a much easier schedule than what we had last year and this year. And would fulfill the SEC promise of everyone getting to play everyone, home and away, over 4 years, with the exception of one team who would get left off on the right side of the list above due to the fact we have two in-conference rivalry games that can't be rotated off. All with an 8 game schedule.

Oklahoma is bound to have a really good season one of these years and then going back to being mediocre for 2 or 3 seasons after that. I don't know why I feel this way, but I have a feeling that it's coming at some point.

Sure, you could say that about many teams. But would you rather play the teams on the left side or the right side?

Outside swapping Tenner, the rest could be even any given year

Auburn
Florida
Oklahoma
Texas A&M
Arkansas
SouthCarolina
Missouri
Vanderbilt

Talent wise that's pretty close to what Texas faced last season.

Also, zero SEC teams with a bye before Georgia in 2026 and 2027. That will get us back to the average of 2 opponents with a preceding bye for the first 4 years.

Another thing to consider is Florida game will be in Atlanta. We are also due for another ooc game added to the schedule from the UCLA game not happening.

At the moment the ooc games are:

Western Kentucky
@ Louisville
Georgia Tech

We might go another 50 years and not see a schedule as effed up as last year's - at Alabama, at Texas and at Ole Miss in what was basically Ole Miss' Super Bowl.

As Kiffin seemingly processed the scope of the moment in real time, he reflected back 364 days prior to November 11, 2024, the night Ole Miss was embarrassed 52-17 by the same Bulldogs program that it defeated on Saturday evening — one that’s become the gold standard in a sport that is historically ruled by an elite few programs with little parity.

“One year ago, we lost to these guys by like 30,” Kiffin said. “We made a decision that we have to go recruit differently. We’ve got to coach differently. We planned for this game for a year. We’ve game-planned all off-season schematically for their defense and their offense.”
