SEC baseball will always get the benefit of the doubt because the programs are the most supported.
There has always been mid majors come out and do well in College Baseball. They come and go while the sec keeps on doing what it does.

Several folks in the portal. Only recognizable name for me was Dylan Goldstein.
Some arms in there that hadn't played much or had awful numbers.

Biggest names leaving us right now are probably Erik Parker and possibly Bryce Clavon, both freshmen. Parker just couldn’t get consistent with the bat and Clavon is good enough to warrant a starting spot somewhere but we don’t seem to want to promise him one.
Question remains if Kolby Branch or Ryan Black will return. Virtually every other starter graduates and is out of eligibility

Presumption is he’s gone too
Sounds like Cade Brown is also fixing to hit the portal.
That will leave us with one HS recruit from the 2024 class (Nate Taylor). This version of college sports really sucks, young guys don’t want to sit and wait and teams in the SEC can’t rely on young guys when seemingly every roster is full of 22 and 23 year old portal hitters with 400+ career ABs

Also added a couple of pitchers, a solid righty starter from U of New Orleans (their Friday Guy) and a really intriguing two way lefty from U of Seattle (originally from Tokyo)

Yeah excited about the japanese guy. Could be fun to watch.
For Phelps are you thinking portal or pros for him? Can baseball players leave after 2 years?

Phelps was absent down the stretch when we needed him

Still would want him back personally

Phelps is draft eligible by age. He could come back for a 3rd year but depends on if anyone drafts him on his potential

I’d be ok with seeing UNC or Arky get over the hump. Coastal and UTSA are also easy to cheer for

After getting the shaft from the Big 10, I’d like to see Oregon State do well.
