Dawgs win it 7-3 after the bullpen goes 7.2 scoreless innings
Nice resilient win on the road against what seems to be a decent State squad

Through 10 games, we are averaging 9 runs for and 3.4 runs against
Seems like we’re still trying to get starters into a rhythm though there’s still plenty of time to do so before Kentucky

I’ll say it again thank godfor this pitching staff , though GA state looks to be a possibily tournament team.

Starting Pitching rotation for the weekend:
Friday: Finely
Saturdays (G1): Goldstein (pitch count)
Saturday (G2): Davis
Sunday: Quinn (pitch count)
Kolten Smith may or may not go this weekend. Supposedly dealing with flu leftovers from last weekend and Wes is playing it safe. But I think most of us are gun shy from the Stricklin era when every week it was “so and so is looking good and may go this weekend” only for a guy to be secretly shut down for the year.

Another rocky start for a starting arm
Finley has gone single, HBP, strikeout, single, walk in the first frame

1 more scores on a sac bunt before a merciful 1-3 bounce out
All 9 men appeared for FGCU in the first to the tune of 5 runs, 4 hits, and a throwing error by Hunter down to 3rd to score the first run
5-0 FGCU mid 1st

Starting pitching…as my son would say, “oof”

Finley loads them again on 2 walks and a single but manages to avoid any damage
Stat line so far is 5 runs on 6 hits, 3 walks, and an HBP
Oof indeed
5-0 FGCU in the 2nd

If this is an occurrence during weekend and weekday games against lesser talent Lol to the idiot who sent a laughing emoji to respond with my comment about possibly getting shelled in the SEC bc of our starting pitching. The only thing to maybe argue with is that our relief pitching might save us, but that is dependent on how much our starters give up oh and how are bats are doing and more then once they showed they can be cold at any time

Hammond goes strike out swinging, strike out looking, and Hunter hoses the runner at 2nd. That was refreshing
Second time through the order vs their starter, need to stack at least a couple of runs here
5-0 FGCU in the 3rd

Now FGCU makes a pitching change with Alford at the plate on a 2-2 count. Not sure if this is an injury situation or what
