I don’t think we have ever played a Thursday game that wasn’t a Bowl Game. With that said, first game of the season, at Vandy, would be one I would support fully. Don’t see much down side. Night game would also be more pleasant that time of year... and the stadium at Vandy would be Red.

Played on Thanksgiving Day throughout the ninties but otherwise I think you are right.

Did we? JV used to play Tech on TG day and Varsity was Friday or Saturday. shite, can’t remember. I guess they stopped JV by the 1990s though.

August 31st is the opening week. 2019 is a year where Labor Day falls early so there are 14 Saturday from Labor day weekend to thanksgiving weekend (whereas most years have 13 Saturdays) We’ll get two byes but wouldn’t have one the first week.
