I looked on the battery site yesterday and they had no info on the signing day event, so must be just now coming together.

I’ve got to squeeze in a west coast trip before the holidays, but I should be able to make it this year.

Which Battery location? Yard House? Fox Bros?

Sports & Social would be my guess. That's where it was last year.

Isn't he leaning heavily to us? It was reported that Swinney canceled his in-home with him and that he was basically a Dawg, although you can never be sure. Didn't a Clemson reporter CB him to us?

They did. Even some of the Alabama fans were acknowledging we were favored now, and a couple felt we were firmly in control. I hope they were right.

What’s up with this Dillon Gabriel kid? Are we just looking for a solid backup or does Kirby and co. see something others schools don’t?

If we are flying out to Hawaii to see him we must really like him, USC has also offered him in the past few weeks.

His stock is up... would expect to see his rating jump with the increased attention. It's not just Kirby... as much as I'd like to say they are just that much better than everyone else.

Just made his top 3:

If you have Instagram, go check out Nolan's page. Just search Nolan Smith and watch his story. He is at UGA and they got his room all decorated out for him.

That's what I was wondering. The guy is tiny and runs a 4.9 according to 247. He's also a two star. I know stars aren't everything, but this doesn't look like the kind of player we would normally eve glance at. Does this look like maybe a Fields transferring situation, and Smart needing some QB depth? Otherwise, I can't imagine why we would waste a scholarship. Surely we'll sign a big time QB in 2020.

Targs are "Fire & Blood". Starks are "Winter Is Coming".

I'll be that nerd. I don't even care.

Kirby has said multiple times that his preferred scholarship QB number is 4.

Gabriel is clearly underrated based solely on the fact that Georgia and USC have ramped up pursuit, and neither are in anything close to a desperate situation at the position.

Precisely why I asked why we're bothering. We've got Fromm, Fields, and Plumlee coming in. I'm not sure why we need another one with other needs. I'd be surprised if we don't sign one of the top QBs next year or at least the year after.

It's almost like he answered that exact question and you choose to ignore it...

He clearly stated that we aren't even close to a desperate situation at the QB position, regardless of whether Smart wants 4 QBs. Assuming Fields stays, it looks like we'll have at least 4 QBs with Plumlee coming in.

That's why I questioned whether it made sense to offer a 5'11" QB from Hawaii who runs a 4.9 forty a scholarship. I don't care enough to get into an argument, was simply asking a question. We've got bigger fish to fry.
